  • 38:07 in.
  • 38:50 in. The short cue and the source music that immediately follows it.
  • 42:12 in.
  • 43:10 in.

I think I cited every cue, so I might as well say the complete score should be released.

Some ensemble jazz-like score, unlike the rest of the series scoring.

  • 45:05 in.

    All synth score.

    "Straight Down the Line"
    By: Lance Rubin
NOTE: Special dramatic end credits music for this episode (which you don't get to hear since this season has the wrong end credits on episodes; I made this note back when there were good loads, over a decade ago)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJu6MyvmlEE

    Highlights:
  • 14:35 in.
  • 20:06 in.

  • 35:45 in.
  • 39:15 in.
  • 42:41 in. Over four minutes long.

    "The Heat of Passion"
    By: Ron Grant
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUhNEKa3vbM

    Highlights:

  • 19:51 in.
  • 22:24 in.
  • 26:09 in.
  • 29:16 in.
  • 40:57 in.
  • 44:01 in.

That's most of the episode score.

Grant should have at least gotten an Emmy nomination for this episode score.

"Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out: Part 1"
    By: Joel Rosenbaum
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bln_uUnQ2VM

  • 24:14 in.
  • 34:45 in.
  • 41:18 in.

    SEASON 11:

The end credits are correct this season.

    "Up the Spout Again"
    By: Jerrold Immel/Craig Huxley

  • 21:27 in.
  • 28:23 in.
  • 32:48 in.
  • 39:01 in.
  • 43:01 in.

Yet another all synth score where the synth is made to work to the advantage of the score rather than against it like the most of the earlier Immel/Huxley efforts.

    "Poetic Justice"
    By: Ron Grant
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DQGcpF4aFg

    Highlights:

  • 11:03 in.
  • 17:57 in.
  • 22:14 in.
  • 30:45 in.
  • 35:33 in.
  • 40:46 in.
  • 44:07 in.

    "Close Call"

  • 44:53 in. And the next episode preview music that immediately follows this cue.

    "When Push Comes to Shove"
    By: Christopher Klatman
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciye7xCZQRU

    Highlights:

  • 11:27 in.
  • 24:37 in.
  • 28:55 in.
  • 31:50 in.
  • 39:10 in.
  • 43:00 in.
  • 44:49 in.

    NO [GOOD] LOAD FOUND.
    "Mixed Messages"
    By: Ron Grant

Entire load on the channel I have been using, is screwed up and unlistenable from start to finish.

    "The Good Guys"
    By: Bruce Miller
    "Nightclub Music by": Larry Riley
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A03I8iCSthI

    Highlights:
  • About 27:05 in. Nightclub music.
  • 32:50 in.
  • 46:40 in.

If I were compiling a set of season eleven scoring, I'd probably skip this episode score.

    "Perfect Couples"

    Highlights:
  • 0:10 in.

  • 44:10 in.

"Never Judge A Book By It's Cover"
    By: Christopher Klatman
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RAHR2GmQdU

    Highlights:
  • 10:39 in.
  • 13:26 in.
  • 20:37 in.
  • 22:30 in.
  • 27:42 in.
  • 34:52 in.
  • 37:12 in.
  • 44:24 in.
  • 45:59 in.

I'm tempted to say Klatman should have gotten an Emmy nomination for this episode score. That must be like the fifth time I've said that about his episode scores in this thread.

  • 24:24 in.
  • About 34:00 in.
  • 39:17 in.
  • 46:47 in.

A good first start and effort for the two.

0:22 in: Lyrics kick late; is this an original song? I'd like the instrumental part.

    "My Firstborn"
    By: Jerrold Immel/Craig Huxley
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGCudHRuy0U

  • 21:59 in.
  • 27:08 in.
  • 29:12 in.
  • 34:14 in.
  • 44:33 in.

A very different side compared to the first episode score Riley did. He was a talented guy! Almost tempted to say he should have gotten an Emmy nomination.

    "The Ripple Effect"

  • 32:16 in.
  • 38:22 in.
  • 40:22 in.
  • 43:30 in.
  • 46:43 in.

I know it's an odd thought to cross my mind, but given how much TV scoring I listen to, you shouldn't be surprised: Listening to this score, it occurred to me: Miller could have scored an episode of "Batman: The Animated Series.

I cannot believe you're watching this stuff, especially after you dissed Mannix.

But then the '80s are quite a different beast than the '60s and early '70s...as are those who enjoy the pop culture of those respective eras.

1: As I've said in multiple threads, I am skimming for the score and listening to the score.

2: I've not commented on what I think about the show.

3: It's not my fault "Mannix" is boring and bland, as opposed to "Baretta". ;-)

You also bailed out of T.H.E. Cat and went totally, living-in-the-trunk-of-your-car crazy.

You can't handle The Sixties! big grin

    SEASON 12:

This is about half the season (it's an odd number of episodes this season).

    Mostly, if not all, synths.

On a set of season twelve score, I'd probably not include much, if anything, from this episode score.

I have no idea what happened to Klatman, but he just sort of went away and never returned to scoring. A very talented composer who should have gotten more work.

While no scoring projects, looking at IMDb, he still orchestrates from time-to-time on various projects.

    Finishing SEASON 13:

    "Victoria's Secret"
By: Larry Riley & Doug Walter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8M3HkjdZ4g (audio/video is out of sync)

This is the final score for both composers; possible Riley's last score for any film/TV project, before passing. It's also Walter's final [known] score to anything.

    Highlights:
  • 8:17 in.
  • 11:03 in.
  • 12:47 in.
  • 15:20 in.
  • 17:58 in.
  • 28:27 in.
  • 31:53 in.
  • About 34:30 in.
  • 41:30 in.

Larry Riley died at the shockingly low age of 38, of AIDS-related kidney failure, in 1992.

He made it (acting) all the way to the last episode of this season. As the loads are in French, I have no idea if they explained on the show what happened to his character.

I like to think he had a promising acting career ahead of him and probably more episodes scores (maybe even other scoring projects), had he lived.

    SEASON 14:

Those who've read my TV series scores threads, probably remember I've had many kind words for Kaproff's orchestral scoring (think "Cagney & Lacey", for example), so here's to hoping for more joy for my ears and not a bunch of low-budget synth work...

There has been no official release of any of the scoring from the show (and no promos that I know of).

A decade or just over ago, Film Music Society announced it was working on Jerrold Immel's scores from this and "Dallas", but nothing has ever materialized and they have never given an update since then:

    http://www.filmmusicsociety.org/membership/membership.html

Our line of compact discs, featuring recordings of scores and songs restored from original production masters, will soon be expanding with releases including a never-before-heard interview with Miklós Rózsa, Jerrold Immel's music from Dallas and Knots Landing, the documentary music of Paul Sawtelle, and many other fascinating productions.
