I'm mostly familiar with the theme of the show which I enjoy. How much of that is used in this? Would be nice to have it in great stereo sound.

I thought I read somewhere that there might be a release of the TV scores from THE MUNSTERS a while back.

Any word on that? In the meantime, I am really looking forward to getting this CD - always loved what Jack Marshall did for the franchise.:-)

I would love to have the original TV series score released on CD. The score really made/Helped the series funnier that it was. Some of the best comedy music ever made. Loved the sports related music when Herman tried out for the Dodgers or for collage basketball. The best was Herman looking for used cars at Fair Deal Dan's scam car lot!! Could it ever be released? Was it ever released?

I think this may be the closest we got to this world: an Addams Family album.

A friend had the CD edition and I recall the quality was terrific.

Oh no. More expense.

The Addams Family release you mention was for sale for nothing at a local HMV in Sheffield. I delayed/dithered/etc., I lost out because the store closed!

Won't be making the same mistake THIS time.

Wasn't there a collection of jokes and music released on Vinyl? I think Real Gone Music put it out.

No explanation forthcoming as to why the word "Heritage" has been jettisoned in favor of "Classics"?

"Heritage" connotes age more than anything else, while "Classics" suggests a note of high quality as well.

Well, then I guess I'll have to start referring to myself as "Heritage" instead of "Classic".

Good one.

A Capitol Records 45 was released with Jack Marshall's Munsters Theme. But as you might expect, it was re-orchestrated and jazzed up for this expanded version.

Golden Records put out a full-length children's LP called "At Home With The Munsters," featuring the voices of the original cast (with Pat Priest as "Marilyn"). For this recording, a children's chorus sang the Munsters theme, with lyrics provided by Bob Mosher.

Perhaps the most faithful re-recording of the original theme was found on the TeeVee Toons LP & CD "Television's Greatest Hits (65 TV Themes! From The 50's And 60's)"

The Munsters theme by Daniel Caine's Orchestra.
Sounds very authentic - would give it 9/10 - Using the Gerhardt recordings as a 10/10 benchmark - and 10/10 for enthusiasm!

Listening now. This is great.

I've been a big Jack Marshall fan since his work with Peggy Lee. His Capitol album "18th Century Jazz" is amazing.

That's pretty good, the only thing that would make it better is if the final third had gone into the faster version from season two, after the variation in the middle gave us the break that could have made it work.

In the UK we very often got single versions of tv themes where the composer himself came up with a middle section. I quite like the Marshall single.

This score is just fun. It's lively and dare I say delightful. And it sounds SO freaking good my gosh. Package and design are stellar. This is becoming one of my favorite releases this year thus far smile

We all know Daniel Caine was actually composer Derek Wadsworth right?
