A word of warning: it seems the "Lion In Winter" track will only be included on the LP - and not on the CD set. I hope that there will also be a download option. Otherwise this kills the deal for me! I'm not doing Universal's job and buy (newley released!!!) music on an outmoded format just to bring it into a more modern format.

I agree but there is quite a bit of interesting unreleased material in there. Mona from Georges Delerue and Tang from Vladimir Cosma I have as 7" vinyl versions but with some surface noise. For Enquêteurs associés and La louve solitaire (thème et poursuite) I'm not sure if it will be the same as the tracks that have been released before. I'm also keen to hear the totally unreleased Hodeir, Goraguer, de Roubaix and Legrand tracks.
Stefan, I never heard of Diggers Factory so far but one thing is for sure: the CD's will be released by the French label Playtime in their new collection 'Les trésors'. This includes yet another Magne album, the non-soundtrack MOSHE MOUSE CRUCIFIXION.
Surprisingly, that "Moshe Mouse" CD album will also contain all the LP album tracks of Magne´s lovely film score DON JUAN 73. Universal France´s former Magne compilation CD with BARBARELLA, LA RONDE etc. from 2007 did only contain about 23 minutes of music from DON JUAN, but not all the 13 tracks with about 37 minutes of the old Barcaly LP from 1973. So this will be a premiere CD release of the LP sequencing: https://www.diggersfactory.com/vinyl/232239/michel-magne-boris-bergman-moshe-mouse-crucifixiondon-juan-73-cd
These items have now been released and are available, but the one I am most interested is the vol 2 vinyl with the previously unreleased recording of The Lion in Winter. If this lp were reasonably priced I would purchase but it is not. Does anyone know if this track has been made available for download--or if there are plans to add it to a future CD?
Does anyone own the 'L'HOMME ORCHESTRE' vinyl? How does it sound? Is it worthy? I certainly love this score and find the original issue is quite expensive and the cd is rare nowadays.
All the rarities and not just that track would be worth a CD update. However, I doubt anyone at Universal cares. I emailed once or twice telling them that ordering Vinyl box sets from France is just not feasible, also considering that many of the tracks are already available, but of course no answer. I've basically given up. In the 90s and 00s I've used to collect rare tracks on compilations but I don't have the motivation to do that anymore.
It is a quirk that when the vast majority of John Barry's vinyl recordings have been released on CD, that two tracks that aren't are recordings of The Lion in Winter--this one and the companion recording to Barry's pop version on CBS. The unreleased on CD tracks is a seductive lounge version of "The Herb Garden."

To celebrate their 20 year anniversary of the Ecoutez le cinéma series, Universal Music France will release various CDs and Vinyls on 15th January. The double CD which includes a book with 100 pages and 36 interviews is rather disappointing as it is just a collection of the tracks which have been released in this series during the last 20 years and nothing else. The track listing for it can be found on FNAC: https://www.fnac.com/a15343442/Michel-Magne-Ecoutez-le-cinema-20-ans-Edition-Limitee-CD-album#int=:NonApplicable|NonApplicable|NonApplicable|15343442|NonApplicable|NonApplicable
I came across this book release and have some questions for anyone who owns it:
This one, the 5xLP Gainsbourg box set, the 5xLP de Roubaix box set... all super expensive vinyl products with a few unreleased tracks just to annoy collectors.
