I have six cds which shipped almost two weeks ago, and when I track each one they all say arriving late with no movement in over a week. Normally I'd receive the cds in about three days. It probably has to do with the bad weather in the U.S., but is anyone else experiencing this? Mind you I'm not complaining, just concerned.

Hi Henry, all my stuff was extremely slow, of course I live inside what was the polar vortex this past week. But I know the entirely postal and delivery system was crushed by storms across the whole eastern half of the nation. Packages from Amazon, Target, a whole lot of vendors are late, and Varese now ships from, guess where, Austin Texas, where most of the city was without power and water for a week. In the bigger picture, when I order CD's now, I order and then I pretty much forget about it, and it shows up one day. I think most of our labels do a pretty good job to the extent they can.

Hi Ado! Yeah I assumed it was from the weather, I hope you get your packages soon, but more importantly how are you doing with this weather my friend?smile

Hey Henry,
I finally got a package today, and we can catch our breath here, we got water back today through most of Austin. And the weather is something in the 60's with a clear sky, people are out picking up the giant pieces of trees that were felled by the ice storm. We have seen cars crushed by trees and roofs smashed. It feels like we came through a crisis

With everything awful going on in the world right now, delayed CDs just aren't any cause for worry as far as I'm concerned. I have dead friends, friends fighting through COVID, people without heat and water, folks battling Stage 4 Cancer. Priorities!

Henry, I think if you know the what and where, you can find out the when and how, but you might never figure the who and why.

It’s happening to a lot of people. I wouldn’t stress. My Harry Potter set shipped a few days ago and was supposed to arrive here in Atlanta today, but hasn’t gone any farther than Santa Clarita, CA. (At least I assume it was the HP set. LLL emailed a tracking number but hasn’t updated the order page.)

I’ve been doing a lot of selling on eBay lately and in my experience the usps has been a mess since November, and now weather conditions across the country have made it worse. It’s also become more common for a package to be put on a truck without being scanned so tracking will show it at a standstill when it’s actually on the move. So it may end up on your doorstep any day now without warning.

I once bought a book from a seller in the UK (I'm in LA). After more than 9 mo it hadn't arrived, the seller gave me a refund, I bought another copy, read it, and then the original copy I ordered came.

I've had CDs arrive inside of 10 days.
I've recently had stuff from China arrive within three weeks.

You can never tell- but right now with COVID and Louis DeJoy, it's a wonder anything gets through.

To me, this last year, when ordering from LLL, I experience that as soon as the package enters my country (Norway) it just sits still for 2-3 weeks before suddenly one day to be found in my mailbox. Its annoying, cause LLL are very fast shippers and the US are fast at getting it out of their country, so why are Norwegians so damn slow?! :O

Last time I had this, I contacted our post service and all they could say was the same thing they always say "this has not yet arrived in Norway" (even though the tracking says so!). Funny thing is that the package was already in my mailbox at home as I was chatting with them...

Very well said-I am going to store this bit of wisdom in my memory banks

I have two CDs shipped from Malta more than a month ago. Tracking shows they're still in Malta...

One of those two orders that took three months to arrive came from Malta. The same seller, or is Malta an unexpected hotbed of soundtrack sales?

From Kronos. But the problem is not the seller, Godwin shipped it in time, it's MaltaPost - or the airport - that doesn't send it forward.

I received the 3 recently released. They came in a decent time, usually so.

I'm waiting for one shipped out of Washington. Stuck in similar limbo. Weather issues + slower mail service = waiting. As long as they arrive ...and undamaged, it's the new norm.

Was hearing a report on NPR today that the USPS is having serious financial troubles. There may be a day in our lifetime where USPS is no more. Repaced by the other carriers...or Amazon.

That's old news. Years ago the conservatives put into law rules to bankrupt the USPO so the business could go to private companies. They've been trying to privatize the USPO for decades.

I've sent books and CDs to Europe, Russia, etc. and some of them have taken six weeks. But everything has eventually arrived. With COVID, you just need to show patience. The whole world is trying to hang in there...
