Continuing SEASON 4:

"The Imposter"
By: Irving Gertz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY09UWhBHU4

Highlights:
  • 11:36 in.
  • 18:13 in.
  • 25:09 in.
  • 27:36 in.^
  • 30:24 in.^
  • 40:33/41:55 in.^
  • 48:54 in.

On a set of season four scoring, I'm not sure how much of this I would include.

    "The Witnesses"b (4.17)
    By: Joseph Mullendore
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcas1w13PqI

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.^
  • 3:18 in.
  • 5:10 in.
  • 8:05 in. There is a three or four second lull and the cues picks back up.^
  • 13:51 in.

  • 35:00 in.^
  • 36:23 in.^
  • 37:38 in.
  • 42:06 in.^
  • 48:56 in.

Terrific effort by Mullendore, though I fall just short of suggesting an Emmy nomination.

"Then Who Will They Hang from the Yardarm If Willy Gets Away?" (4.19)

    Finishing SEASON 4:

    "Orlando, the Prophet" (4.22)
    By: Joseph Mullendore
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmq9Js2E6wQ

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.^
  • 2:26 in.^
  • 4:43 in.
  • 6:45 in.
  • 8:42 in.
  • 18:05 in.^
  • 19:21 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(both; first: parts, second: 24:24)
  • 33:36 in.^
  • 36:24 in.^
  • 38:52 in.^(40:15)
  • 42:27 in.^

This was the second-to-last episode to star Ed Ames (Mingo). The last had no credited composer. A good character -- sad to see him go.

In an old newspaper article at the time (there was no explanation on the IMDB Trivia page for the show), Ames said four seasons had served his purpose to gain exposure to himself, so when he left he focused on his singing career instead.

Perhaps for the best, as another old article from the time stated Fess Parker (Daniel Boone was apparently not that happy that Ed Ames got more fan mail than he did this final season.

In real life, it appears there was not Indian named Mingo that was a friend of Daniel Boone. There is, however, a real Indian tribe named Mingo.

    (NtM: 30:28)

    "The Far Side of Fury"
    By: Irving Gertz
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxTns3onhVo

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 9:06 in.^
  • 12:42 in.
  • 20:24 in.
  • 27:23 in.
  • 32:46 in.^(33:00)
  • 41:05 in.
  • 45:37 in.

On a set of season four scoring, there's not much I'd take away.

    18:00 in: waterfall porn.

    (NtM: 2:14)

    "Nightmare" (4.24)
    By: Alexander Courage
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SOQ6Obfv1I

    Highlights:
  • 1:27 in.^(opening)
  • 4:18 in.^
  • 32:37 in.^
  • 44:29 in. And the cue after the commercial break.

    (NtM: about 31:00, about 40:00)

    "Faith's Way" (4.26)
    By: Leith Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKcoXKVKP98

This is the final effort by Stevens for the series.

    Highlights:
  • 20:59 in.
  • 23:09 in.
  • 27:29 in.
  • 33:23 in.
  • 37:40 in.
  • 39:56 in.
  • 44:08 in. That opening made me think we were about to see Spaceball 1 start transforming...
  • 48:06 in.

A light emotional low-key score with some light tension here and there. Over all, on a set of season four scoring, it's not likely I'd include any of it; too much good scoring from prior episodes to waste space on this.

    SEASON 5:

I never did like the theme song to the series, but I have to say the arrangement for this season ... sucks.

"Be Thankful for the Fickleness of Women"
    By: Jack Elliott
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-9DI8sDa_k

This is the only effort by Elliott for the series.

    Highlights:
  • 8:48 in.
  • 11:03 in.^
  • 13:09 in.
  • 18:49 in.
  • 20:14 in.

On a set of season five scoring, I'd probably just include the first two cues. Terrible episode with an overly comedic score. I'm glad he didn't score another episode. John Parker would have been a far better choice.

    (Note to Me: 2:32, 49:40)

    "The Blackbirder" (5.2)

    "The Fleeing Nuns" (5.4)

  • 21:49 in.
  • 27:18 in.
  • 34:59 in.^(parts)

"The Plague That Came to Ford's Run" (5.5)
    By: Joseph Mullendore

    Highlights:

Very glad to see Joseph Mullendore get his due. He did a terrific score for a Christmas episode of "The Rogues" (a one-off as Nelson Riddle did every other episode), an effort that really was deserving of Emmy consideration.

Serviceable over comedic score to a terrible "comedic" episode.
On a set of season six scoring, I'd only include the first two highlights.

Another terrific, and off beat, score by Murray. I'm tempted to say he should have at least gotten an Emmy nomination for this score.

I cited like 99% of the score, so I might as well say the entire score should be released. I'd even gladly take the Indian percussion pieces.

Alot of the music has a comical tinge which sounds like his music for The Virginian "Crime Wave at Buffalo Springs," which has some surprisingly lovely bridge cues. But maybe you haven't gotten to that series since online uploads are spotty.

I never did hear that one. Only like 30 to 40% of the episodes with credited scores are up. Too short for me to bother with. And of those, some are missing parts.

There are episodes on Dailymotion, but when I tried to upload the one I mentioned, it was almost immediately removed for copyright poopie. I happen to have the music which is why I'm familiar with it, posted some of the nice cues here in the past. Here's some of the playful ones that remind me of the Boone episode:
