Having just read the track list, I've discovered there are 26 soundtracks on this set that I have no music from. Therefore this will be a late Christmas present to me from my family.

Thanks a lot Stefan, really appreciate that.
I've only got a few of these, was hoping to see 'The Island', a hard to get ost, but with so many films covered I'll for sure be picking this up.

You forgot to include Le Clan Des Siciliens (Dialogo No.2) on CD 4

CD 3 additionally contains La Tarantola dal ventre nero, La Cugina, La proprietà non è più un furto and Il Giro del mondo degli innamorati di Peynet (Forse basta)

CD 6 also contains Dove vai in Vacanza? (Laringomania)

A bit disappointed with the content.
The first volume included mostly rereleases of complete album programs and a few previously unreleased material.
This volume 2 with lots of films represented in each cd seems more like a standard compilation with few selected tracks from the original albums and not the full album programs.

Thanks for the hints. With so many tracks from so many films it is clear that a few movies can be overlooked smile

"Forse basta" could also come from L ´ULTIMO TRENO DELLA NOTTE as the same theme from GIRO DEL MONDO was also used there just one year later - and it would also fit in more with the other tracks mainly from Italian thrillers which can be found during the first half of CD 3. Therefore I had chosen ULTIMO TRENO rather than GIRO DEL MONDO. It depends on which version they have chosen for the CD.

I have a lot of this stuff. Not sure I want to pay out a fistful of cash for this set.

Is this true? Are most of these scores, in fact, just select tracks and not complete representations of, at least, previous album presentations? I don't have any of these to make a comparison. I would hope for something that not only gives us everything previously released, but also unreleased material.

Yes, he's right. It's a completely different approach than the first volume. I hope that some label will release The scarlet and the black on a single disc and with more cues than on this compilation.

The first volume maybe represented his most full and diverse score albums, warranting the full tracklists, this one looks like it covers all the major themes or motifs from certain scores, avoiding any repetition, which I'm fine with. Ennio has such a huge discography, I'm glad of the chance to become familiar with a broader range of his styles.

the first one was made but 2 people

LA DONNA DELLA DOMINICA (2 TRACKS and not even the theme...

This is perfect companion set at least for me (No Morricone in collection) who will get vol. I as Christmas gift.

It is great to have broader representation of composer work without need to go full completist mode.smile

Here is what I was waiting for from this wonderful resource (thanks to everyone who works on it!) It doesn't seem to be finished yet, but thought I'd share it as soon as I saw it:

https://chimai.miraheze.org/wiki/Album_Musiques_de_films_-_Colonne_sonore_-_Original_Soundtracks_--_1964-2015_Vol._II_14CD_Decca

I have some of disc 14 ("A Flower's All You Need", the Hayley Westenra version of "The Edge of Love", the Chico Buarque song "Rotativa", the Raymond Lefèvre version of "Le Casse"), but not a lot.

I wonder if it's really true that the Raymond Lefèvre version of "Le Casse" appears on both volumes of this set?

I don't own copies of "One Two Two Rue de Provence" on CD (I have an LP) and "Al Cuore si Comanda". I've been waiting for "Scarlet and the Black" on CD for years (again, I have an LP). It seems like I'd get less than 2 CDs of music from this 14CD set.

I'm sure looking forward to that 4th Vladimir Cosma box, though!

... and the representations of "One Two Two Rue de Provence" and "Al Cuore si Comanda" aren't the complete scores!

Is there a chance that previously unreleased cues from In the Line of Fire are in this set?

Yeah - I guess there's all the released music from "Un genio, due compari, un pollo", but my CD copy of that score has an unreleased piece of music from "Autostop Rosso Sangue" (where's THAT on CD, I wonder?), so I'll hold onto that as well.

It's hard for me to understand the audience to which this set is intended to appeal. I guess people who like his music but don't, and don't want to, own very much of it?

"Autostop Rosso Sangue" is another movie and it has no reason to be there. I have also many score from this set and the first volume but i had to get them because its also a very nice object and i now think its better to have some music from this great looking set with a very big booklet. Sure i keep the essential expanded cds and some others but they are many that i did not want to buy but at the time and its nice to have them now in those set. I don t regret and i just hope there will be another volume that could put the final important missing music.

I'm listening to it. What an incredible set! Even if you already have some parts of it on other albums (which is my case), there's so much left to discover.
With this Vol II they decided to cover more films than in the first set, as a result the average number of cues for each film is around 4-5. It offers more variety than in the first one.
I know it seems expensive, but is it really for what it offers?
