It appears Quartet has restored one stereo track that was left off the Perseverance reissue: "The Talisman II" - is that correct? Or is it a reprise of "The Talisman"?

More likely from looking at the running times that the track was two different cues that have been separated for this presentation.

Red Sonja was my first Morricone score (on vinyl from Varese) back in the day. It's simple but wonderful and made me a lifelong fan. Lovely trumpet playing - not sure who the soloist was.

There's a 4K restoration disc out there in European markets. Not sure when it's coming to the US.

You can have it shipped to the US from www.Zaavi.com

It’s region-free. That’s the one I have.

I don't think so. When Perseverance separated the tracks from the suites they made a mistake repeating "Entering The Castle" twice in the program (they left it attached to the end of track 3 "The Talisman" as it was in the Suite Part II of the original album and then included it again, separated, as track 17). But that repeated track is 2:09 minutes, which do not fit the length of "The Talisman II" in Quartet, which is 1:10.

A yellow restoration... It's an acquired taste.

The booklet says the talisman music ' returns as Gedren enters the temple'( sans chorus).

Incidentally, the whole disc sounds fine. The album presentation sounds clearer. The ( bass) drums give you more boom for tour buck.havent noticed any shit edits/ fades, definitely a plus. The score presentation, while mono , is good sounding.

When will people realize that the lack of a soundstage doesn't affect the audio quality, just the imaging? Probably never.

It's more a source style cue and at odds with a belter of a score. So say I.

Also on page 226 of the old EM musicography (I know, paper!), it credits Franco Tamponi as conductor. Correct, error, tax dodge, day off? Quien Sabe.

Pretty much all earlier sources credit Franco Tamponi as conductor, from IMDB to the earlier CD release.
