Yes, "nocturne" is somewhat like "prelude" or "adagio" or "entr'acte" or "serenade"... it's a common term (not limited to film music) to describe a particular type of music piece. All of these occur outside of film music as well. Herrmann usually titled his cues very matter of fact and used almost exclusively nouns for the names of his cues: "The Car", "The Telephone", "The Nightmare", "Prelude", "Walz", "Nocturne", "Finale" etc.    Posted:   Nov 21, 2022 - 1:51 AM     By:   Graham Watt   (Member) Referring back to Tobias' Jerry Goldsmith double CD-Rs filled with tracks beginning with "No...", I wonder how many CD-Rs could be made using JG's prediliction for tracks beginning "First..." and "A New....". It's definitely fallen out of favor, since the end credits these days are so much more than the cast. "End Cast" is much more associated with films from the 1940s through the 1960s. The last composers to use it may have been: Chuck Cirino for 1994's GHOULIES IV and 1990's HARD TO DIE Georges Delerue in 1988's MEMORIES OF ME and 1981's RICH AND FAMOUS John Morgan for 1982's THE AFTERMATH Lalo Schifrin for 1978's NUNZIO John Williams' JAWS 2 (1978) John Williams' FAMILY PLOT (1976) John Addison's SWASHBUCKLER (1976) Alex North's RICH MAN, POOR MAN (1976) Michel Legrand's GABLE AND LOMBARD (1976)    Posted:   Nov 22, 2022 - 8:36 AM     By:   John Schuermann   (Member) If Williams and Goldsmith had ever collaborated on a score together, there would have been a track named "No Reflections." A vampire movie, perhaps?    Posted:   Nov 24, 2022 - 8:41 AM     By:   Loren   (Member) I don't like when a track title is repeated (we know the reasons, expecially in Italian scores) and you find "sequence" or "Seq." or "#" plus a number which, quite often, is NOT matching to the track number.
