I'd never heard of this recent classical work "Engadiner Suite", and picked it up on CD because of this recommendation, thanks Governor.
Having heard it several times now, it is much more accessible and melodic compared to the early works on the FSM CD. Unusual, highly recommended and worth hunting down. Jarre actually wrote it for the Ahn Trio, there are samples on you tube.
Gorgeous piece & a very good cd overall, Ahn Trio's GROOVEBOX. The Jarre piece draws on his film themes, I'll have to revisit to confirm which if any interest. I was hoping the FSM disc & support of J.Hiver would foster more of Jarre's accessible concert work to emerge - still hoping but grateful for this disc anyway.
