I'm very sorry to hear that. When I worked there I would have have taken this on and gotten an answer. My friend I tried when I can when I worked there.

I can well understand why you are feeling so angry. I sent Varese two emails also last week regarding an issue I have with my Raggedy Man, Murder by Death, RoboCop2 order and I haven't received a reply. My next step tomorrow morning will be to contact PayPal. I will NEVER AGAIN place an order with Varese Sarabande.

Nope. They can read can't they? And they can readily take peoples money. They have obligations that they are shirking from, ignoring customers emails and ignoring customers is not good practice. I am going another route now.

Robocop 2 arrived at my residence yesterday.
I had placed this order with Varèse directly on June 8th when I saw their site claiming a June 17th due date on "remaining copies".
This edition of Robocop 2 is superb with respect to multiple aspects of its production (sound quality, notes by an authority on Rosenman, musicians listings, etc.), yet the recording dates with the Hollywood Studio Orchestra are not disclosed.
Can TheFamousEccles (or anybody else) assist us in any way by letting us FSMers know if this score was recorded early in 1990 or, perhaps, even during late 1989?
Another curiosity about this Deluxe Edition is that neither the album's reverse side nor the CD itself is copyrighted 2019 by Varèse Sarabande. Only 1990 is listed as the copyright for Orion Pictures Corporation.

I can't remember more specifics at the moment, though I did have a short list with some of the recording dates (though not a complete listing) written down somewhere. My files are fairly discombobulated at the moment, I'm afraid to say.
So glad you picked up the album, and are enjoying it! I think it's a tremendously entertaining, varied, and rewarding score, myself. I have yet to get tired of it!

April 30th 1990 gives us a good indicator of how close (less than 2 months) the sessions were done prior to Robocop 2's release around June 24th, 1990.
I, too, think this expanded version rewards the listener with Rosenman's integration of his various motifs and resources to lend a thoughtful continuity that wasn't too apparent in that 30-minute album from 1990.
This Robocop 2 is longer and better than ever before and I'm grateful that Mr. Townson and Varèse elected to produce this disc prior to the abolishment of the Varèse CD Club.
Interesting that Varèse issued - not one but - two albums by Rosenman within 6 months of each other [the MCA LP program of 9/30/55 being issued onto CD in September 2018]. This, after years - literally decades - of no Rosenman material whatsoever between the initial 1990 Robocop 2 and VS's Volume 3 on The Alfred Hitchcock Hour in May of 2012.

Ah, I took no notice of the 'Ultimate Star Trek' since I typically avoid re-recordings. Besides, it's only a single cue and not an all-Rosenman program.
Their vinyl edition on The Lord of the Rings looks like a re-issue of the 1978 Fantasy LPs and not Intrada's 1991 expansion/re-mastering. Still, this was in 2015. Between 1990 and 2012, VS did not release any Rosenman soundtrack...
