Another fascinating read. So was the Brass compliment enlarged beyond what Herrmann wrote? Just got this recording? When is the actual Disc to be released?

Yes, based on Bill's experience recording Herrmann and with modern recording techniques, he recommended adding some players and Doug concurred. Intrada is folding this disc into their current production pipeline and it should be released sometime this spring.

That's great news about Spring!

Bill has previous experience conducting at least 2 cues from ODG on their BATTLE OF NERETVA Recording which Herrmann reused for the film while making some adjustments. Its a Tour de Force performance of the 'Death Hunt' cue and "The Hunt's End titled as 'The Bridge' on NERETVA program. The orchestra does seem fuller. So I'd welcome any adjustment on the orchestra size to augment the overall sound. Its should sound spectacular.

William Stromberg conducting Bernard Herrmann has never been anything less than great, for almost three decades now...

Received an email asking about my reward this morning (I decided to go with Willow for the free CD). I should be getting the CDs by June per the subsequent email.

I’m only going by the ETA listed on the email sent after I completed the survey. For all I know, it could get here well before June.

The CD will be available before June, that seems certain. I think that boilerplate language represents an overabundance of caution, as they say, to accommodate any postal delays.

While you're waiting, you can read my third and final installment of the ODG and TMWKTM recording sessions here: https://www.joesikoryak.com/post/herrmann-at-glasgow-s-center

I missed the Kickstarter deadline so I'll be getting this when it's available to the general public..
But will it then be available as a cd only, or also as a download WITH a booklet? Anyone?
Thanks……..

Their previous new recording of DIAL M FOR MURDER is/was available after the Kickstarter campaign for general purchase both as digital download ( for example here: https://www.qobuz.com/de-de/album/dial-m-for-murder-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-re-recording-dimitri-tiomkin/mg4hc8plg3y3b ) and as CD (https://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.A/id.11805/.f ). The download does not include the booklet though, unfortunately.
Presumably, Intrada will do the same with the new Bernard Herrmann recording.

Great write-up, Joe! Maybe you should be writing the liner notes and/or the booklet.

Thanks John, but we have Herrmann biographer Steven C. Smith on tap for the notes and he’s way more qualified for the job. Glad you enjoyed my take on the proceedings!

Finally got around to reading your blog posts, Joe. Thanks a lot! These paragraphs really made this release my most anticipated one in quite some time.

My recent trip to Glasgow with Intrada to record a pair of Herrmann scores was too epic for a single post, so here’s part 2 of 3:

As always, my soundtrack memoirs include a playlist as well. Thanks for reading (and listening)—hope you have a great weekend ahead!

I just read this fantastic prolegomenon. Well done and thank you for sharing it. Everything about it was anything but enfant terrible.

The tracklist has recently been revealed. Also, apparently Kickstarter contributors will be getting a slipcase which won’t be included when the album goes on general release.

If no surprise release will occur this year, this will be the most important one.Like FRENZY was in 2022.

Received an email last night asking to confirm my shipping address. So I can only assume they’re going to start shipping pretty soon.

That is great news, I imagine the general release will follow several weeks later.
