I never said the episodes were sparsely spotted. I said that they were more sparsely spotted in comparison to the first season. Which is true. The season 2 episodes are just as long as the season 1 episodes. However, the season 1 episode albums were all 49-59 minutes each. The season 2 episode albums, so far, are around 40 minutes each. So what I was confirming, was that this is because the episodes themselves have less score in them this season, compared to last season. In other words, was confirming that it's not because the season 2 episodes have just as much score in them as season 1 episodes but Bear was choosing to leave a bunch unreleased. I hope that makes sense.

Initially yes, just like season 1. Once the season is over they will be everywhere. Yavar

Last season, the episode albums were exclusive to Amazon Music through the 7th episode. When the 8th episode album came out (the same day the 8th episode itself came out), all 8 episode albums showed up on all the other music retailers at the same time. Should be the same this year, especially since Qobuz accidentally has the episode 2 album up for sale already.

Huh, my own reaction while watching is, “Gee, I sure wouldn’t mind if this was a bit higher in the mix.” Yavar

No I meant it was too much music...EVERY scene had music...this is not good in my opinion..scenes need to breath..and being a Goldsmith fan yourself...he knew when to "shut up" ! Dont you think? Yes, I celebrate and appreciate Goldsmith's judicious spotting decisions. But for Middle Earth (or yes, other fantasy worlds like Harry Potter or Narnia) I do think more constant music (though it should have ebbs and flows and volume variety) is appropriate. Do you also wish the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings films had less Howard Shore music? I don't. They were spotted pretty perfectly for the high fantasy world they were set in, IMO. Yavar

I don't know if it hasn't already been mentioned, any chance for another Mondo 10-disc release? Or, was that just a one off.

Mutant has the physical rights to season 2, Mondo only did season 1 I think we can expect another box set, if the first box set sold well enough to justify it again.

The show has its ups and downs, though season 2 is, overall, so far better than season 1. Regardless, the music is consistently great. The episode 5 album is incredible, full of instrospection, breaking down of season 1 themes, a tiny bit of the new Eregion theme, and then climaxing with a killer action arrangment of Sauron's theme. A highlight of the season so far! https://music.amazon.com/albums/B0DGMDDKYF BTW here is the chronological order of the season album so far Concert Arrangements 01 Old Tom Bombadil (3:10) - feat. Rufus Wainwright 02 Rhun (2:35) - feat. The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices 03 Concerning Stoors (3:32) 04 Golden Leaves (3:18) - feat. I gave up after the 4th episode of S2. This series offers absolutely nothing beyond the visual layer. I prefer to listen to Bear's music separately, it's good, but weaker than from S1. The songs are mostly awful.
