our Black Friday titles are up in the air at this point. We may only have a few titles come out.

MV

Is it possible to still announce the delayed ones on Black Friday, and put the order pages up with the others the following Tuesday, with a notice that says "begins shipping January 2022" or something?

And speaking of which, our Black Friday titles are up in the air at this point. We may only have a few titles come out.

As sad as that makes me, I am sadder for you. Good luck with everything.

Well said.

Ditto.

Today I received some bad news from our Manufacturer of Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan. Due to supply issues and Covid regulations that have impacted the pressing plant we will NOT be receiving our next batch of Wrath of Khan discs until Nov 20th or later. Of course should they miraculously arrive earlier we will let you guys know.

We are all thankful for your continued efforts.

I love this set! And, my Horner collection is almost complete, I need 19 more titles!

I received a package from Intrada, here in the UK, at the beginning of last week in which one of the titles was Star Trek 2. When I came to play it later in the week, I found that disc 1, The Score would not play. The cd player could not read it. When I examined it, under a bright light, I found marks across much of the playing surface. Has anyone else else had a faulty disc with this set?

Disc 2 is perfect.

Am I wrong in thinking that LaLa had a problem with the first batch of this title, or am I mixing it up with Glory. I'm sure there was a problem with one of them.

I have emailed Intrada, and I am awaiting a reply.

No issues at all with mine. How old is that CD player?

It's certainly not the cd player. Disc 2 plays fine, as do the other 2cd sets I received in that order. Perhaps it's just a rogue disc. It happens I suppose, but this is the first one I've ever had.

I would try a different CD player (if possible), but rogue discs with defects happen. It's rare (fortunately), but I've had it happen. In my experience the various Labels provide excellent customer service and will get you a replacement disc if your disc is faulty.

I did. On disc one, where the date and copyright are across the outer edge was all scratched and chipped. The album came to me perfectly fine, the case mint as well. It’s the only time I’ve had an error like this with a LLL release.

You may just have a bad disc. Just email us at info@lalaland-ent.com for a replacement

AND, no there were no issues with either ST2 or Glory. We have shipped thousands of units and haven't had any issues reported except for an occasional busted jewel case.

No playback issues as all for me on either STII or Glory. USPS did completely destroy my STII case including the tray liner notes but Matt took care of it. Splendid release and service!!!!

Following my email to Intrada and their reply, in which they told me that they would contact you for a replacement disc, I subsequently received the disc in my next package from them a few weeks later. As usual, excellent customer service from both Intrada and, indeed, your good selves. Thank You.

I want this Pro Tools Session. With all Audio Files.

I got my CD finally yesterdeay. This is my first edition of Khan so I can't compare the differences in the mix but it does sound awesome. I like, that Huxley's "Genesis Project" is on there but as a bonus track so it doesn't interupt the Horner music on CD1.

The CDs are fine, but if I have to grumble about something, then it is jewel case. I had serious problems to take out the CD from the inner holder. Strong pressing with the thumb, but nevertheless a terrible bending of the disc was necessary to take it out. The inner holder is too strong. The holders from the old discs in the 1980's and 1990's were much better.

Until they weren’t. The older ones would frequently break and then your CD would be floating around freely in the case. But I do get your points about the new ones old is so tight it takes a lot of energy to get it out.

DARTHBRETT is saying Star Trek: The Motion Picture had 10,000 copies which sounds pretty high to me but I guess it's possible. That's really impressive! I was kind of sad thinking there are only 1,000 film score fans in the world but 10,000?!?! That's a much less lonely number!

Remember that Star Trek appeals far outside the film music fan club, so I'd imagine a number of Star Trek fans will want this as well as us. That combination of us and them could actually sell out 10,000.

Agreed. Unfortunately there’s not always as much of a crossover and advertising as you would like. For example I once found a rare and out of print Back to the Future(BTTF) score album in a BTTF online. They were still selling copies of it. There was no link to the broader film score hobby or label (Intrada). That said, I’d also like to note that the Wikipedia entry for LLL Land of the Giants mentions the release of Land of the Giants music on GNP’s Fantastic Worlds of Irwin Allen set. It didn’t mention, until I edited it, that you could also get the 4 CD set from LLL. I’m sure there are a lot of fans of that show that would like to get that music but are totally unaware of it.

I think the amount is different now, but for older scores, you didn't have to pay the re-use fees at 9,999 copies -- which people just round up for an even 10,000 number.

But 10,000 doesn't mean it's a good seller. Even if a film has a large fan base, doesn't mean it translates into them wanting to hear score outside a film and want to own it to boot.

It's Jerry Goldsmith and widely considered one of his best scores amongst his fan base, so a score like this would sell way way way more than, say, "Rent-A-Cop" and "Mr. Baseball" to begin with.

Then of course you have online retailers like SAE, who buy a certain amount to sell. Because it's Star Tre and a fan favorite, you'd probably have other retailers who would buy a certain amount to sell, too.

Unless somebody gives in the inside details, it's hard to know if it really moved 10,000 units. The contract may have expired and not everything was pressed. I seem to also recall that when a contract expires and you still have units, you [the label] can't legally sell them and have to destroy the remainder, so even if 9,999 units were made, they don't all sell. And a sell out only means the label has sold out -- there may be many units across retailers that didn't move and are sitting there.

Just some thoughts and reminders of things mentioned before.
