Lately I'm listening to a ton of him, the HARVEY POTTERS, the dino franchises and the RAIDERS dvd's I found.

Since these were great pop successes, the RAIDERS cd's are likely cheap now. But, fat chance I'll get to buy any of the RAIDERS, since the local cd stores are still closed. frown

Which Indy score are you looking for?

Any but the first.

Well, just 2 and 4. Not the LAST CRUSADE.

Does Berkeley Dave crawl through the semi-open window of his local library every two days to use their computer just so he can pump air into his own threads?

For all the cheap, used copies of his cd's that I was able to find over the years, you'd think I'd come upon a trove of his sheet music in the used bins.

Nope. All I've seen so far is the Olympic Theme.

I have never run across what looks like a collection of soundtracks in a thrift store where it looks like someone died and their family threw everything out. But maybe I was just not in the right place at the right time. Less rarely, I have found collections of classical music which were disposed of and I went totally nuts buying stuff.

I remember many years ago, during some huge earthquake in California, a Tower Records store was hit badly, and most of their CDs were damaged, including water damage. Some Liquidation World-like store in Vancouver bought the store's entire stock and sold them for quite reasonable prices. Again, another opportunity to spend a lot of money...

In all my used CD-store browsings (not including stores which cater specifically to people buying used rock and similar), I have only ever once found ONE CD of Frank Zappa, one of my other interests. Good quality jazz is something else very rarely seen.

Another sign the era is ending:

Finally saw THE BOOK THIEF, liked it, and thought for certain I could find a cheap, remaindered copy of the score in one of the stores.

Nothin' doin'! I came out empty-handed.

That's a shame. I got lucky on this one. Picked it up about two years ago in a used bookstore for $2.99. It was in wonderful condition, minus a beat up jewel case. I swapped that out and it looks brand new.

I'm seeing THE FRANCHISE AWAKENS for cheap now (I heard the cd and now I'd like to buy it), but not the other two.

If you live in or near Tampa, Florida, The Sound Exchange has no dearth of JW or anything. They have 3 locations, soon to be two:

https://www.soundexchangetampabay.com/index.php/sound-exchange-to-create-new-superstore-location-in-pinellas-park/

Having visited and shopped at the Tampa location a few years ago, I can attest to the vast film soundtrack and score
selection. It's not just the usual stuff you find among the used items, there are classics, favorites, rarities and the like. The prices are fair and the sales staff is knowledgeable. I came hope with about 15-20 items in my suitcase. Among my stash were a few JW releases.

As my niece has passed, I no longer travel to that area but I may visit some friends of hers next winter and will definitely stop by there.

Hey that superstore isn't far from where I work--and it's right near a Cuban restaurant I've enjoyed. Gonna havta scout it out one of these days. It's been ages since I've walked into a joint like this and given it the old Footlight treatment.

This also seems to apply to JW piano anthologies (sheet music form). Not a one in the used bins. Dang.

I spoke too soon!

The other two are starting to appear, cheap.

Criswell Predicts....

... that more than one person will think the thread title is "The DEATH of (John) Williams" and start yammering, yammering, yammering on that topic.

Which is exactly how you wanted people to read the title, to get clicks. You were clickbaiting and you know it.

Cheers
