Thank you to everybody who contributed to last year's Indiegogo campaign for Sky Fighter and/or this year's supplement (and apologies if you have received a redundant email via the updates).
I have led a charmed life! Since the age of 16 (in 1990), when I started the newsletter that became Film Score Monthly, I have been able to pursue my passions for publishing, CD producing, and, now, filmmaking—all because of a loyal audience of supporters. I do not take this for granted for one second!
With my newest project, I appreciate that it's quite different for me to promote an original sci-fi film—as opposed to something like a John Williams film score that fans already know and love. You have all been so loyal and supportive—and I am especially grateful for the donors who enjoyed the film and took the time to let me know and/or promote it on social media.
This is a crossroads for me...I've put everything I have, financially and creatively, into the "Sky Fighter" short film in the hopes of getting a feature version made...and I'm happy to say that my producing partners and I are starting that process.
I will produce the "Sky Fighter" CD/blu-ray combo one way or another to fulfill ALL of my obligations for the donors. This new Indiegogo campaign is basically about survival until the feature film (or another project) bears fruit.
So I thank you again...and if you want to help out, use the new Indiegogo campaign as a way to pre-order the eventual CD/blu-ray of the short. That's basically what we're doing. (Remember, I am nothing if not candid.)
For those who can't/won't make it and will ask—the short film will be online in due course, just don't know when or where (yet).
Thanks!
Lukas
Congrats, Lukas!
If I wasn't so busy with a project at work (thanks, Disney-Fox deal!), I'd take a half day so I could see it on the big screen. Hope the festival screening is a blast!
Hi Lukas, just wondering if there is any news on when you will release the CD/Blu-ray. I can't wait for the chance to see your movie. And, by the way, is there any news on how it's doing on the film festival circuit?
