For the poster who wondered why there was only one mention of Playing By Heart , , , well, you're right. That should have been on my list. "Vows Renewed" is one of Barry's best cues on record and in the film. Brighton Rock ran for a couple of months in Islington during the fall of 04. I saw a performance and loved the score. Some somber tunes, some Catholic choral music, a witty tango, and some instrumental crime music that reminded me of the "attack" cues in The Whisperers. Of course, I'm relying on one hearing from 15 years ago. Barry fans unite!

SWEPT FROM THE SEA is definitely among my all time favorite John Barry scores. But I also generally like his scores. ACROSS THE SEA OF TIMES, INDECENT PROPOSAL, CRY, THE BELOVED COUNTRY... stuff.
