steffromuk: I find a lot of (if not all) the latest cover arts from Mondo to be really uninspired and quite underwhelming to be frank. The artists often focus on an anecdotal detail from the movie and build their cover around it, resulting in something un-noticeable that misses the essence of the film...There's a trend among illustrators to produce something at the edge of being off mark to look edgy and original. but 99% of them fail.
I guess my post was also off topic, sorry.
I have no wish to convince you every Mondo vinyl sleeve is fab, and criticizing art is everybody's right.
But all these complaints about vinyl shouldn't be done anymore and the art defies my preconceptions and the hipsters like it so I hate it and want to retaliate electronically is just mindless ranting from witless curmudgeons.
Hollywood is busy spoon-feeding you all the conventionalizations you could ask for and then some. Subscribe to DisneyPlus if Mondo is too challenging for you.
Your aesthetic cowardice is not edgy and hip, just pathetic. Let Trump handle all that. At least he's entertainingly philistine.

Last Child: Does an album of classical music warrant new "edgy" cover art? It's just old wine in a new bottle.
In terms of commercial music marketing, all the musical content is considered Classical. In strict musicological terms, none of it is. All the 2001 music tracks were written after the Classical period.
Anyway, you’re just being quibblesome. Can’t somebody come up with some real appreciation for this music? It’s as if Mondo took a leak in everybody’s yard somehow.
Oh, well. The curmudgeonly spirit seems to have taken over on this thread. I’m not even buying this record. No Karajan Zarathustra.

Ya know, the true significance in the news of this release is that it
tells us a hi-res download version of the album should be forthcoming.
Consider: about five months after the Elmer Bernstein score for Ghostbusters is released on CD and download by Sony, along comes Mondo with a nice-looking 2-LP package.
Considering the top-flight remaster here on 2001 (Abbey Road Studios!), I think it’s safe to say that WarnerMedia has similar plans for this proven seller.
