I usually get Screen Archives orders in 2 days after they shipped. lolita shipped on Dec 4th and tracking indicates in transit, but it's been in that status since 12/11. I'm still waiting hopefully but I can't shake the feeling that "in transit" is an euphemism for MIA.
The USPS is the worst I've ever seen it this holiday season. I have a bunch of eBay stuff I'm waiting on for weeks now - all show as "in transit." I just got one of them today, shipped on 12/3. It's unbelievable, really - an all-time low.

As I said I'm hopeful. I know that because of covid people are doing less travelling out of town and less visiting in town and that means a lot more mail--on top of the normal seasonal and extra covid challenges so I'm not being critical of the USPS.

I use Informed Delivery by the USPS. I've never seen worse general status of packages there.
I was reading about this a week ago. Here are the factors I vaguely remember.
Some services--UPS, FedEx?--recently raised prices--sending more mail to the USPS.
UPS and FedEx ended delivery services for some retailers.
The season from Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday to Christmas adds more mail.
The Inspector General removed mail sorting machines, limited overtime, etc.
The pandemic...
One article said that one postal station was so filled up it rejected new deliveries of packages.
When I order a CD from overseas, I won't report the item as lost until at least eight weeks have passed. I've had items arrive in six weeks from Europe.
Domestically I--and many of you--have seen packages just sit in a sort of 'In Transit, Arriving Late' limbo for a couple of weeks.
Oh, just to say something on topic, I look forward to this CD someday.

There's no rhyme or reason to it, which is the frustrating part. Some got theirs in a couple of days. I get some Amazon packages in the Prime two days, others take a week and one is going on two weeks. I think as soon as Mr. De Joy is canned, which he will be, things will improve.

I got mine about a week ago. Thankfully. While I have not played the entire musical, I have listened to all of the songs. First of all, the sound quality is much improved over the previous lp and cd releases. As far as the music--what a shame these songs have died with a flop. Aside from the well-received "Sur Les Quais" and those songs that were covered by prominent artists ("In the Broken Promised Land of Fifteen," "Going, Going Gone," "How Far Is It to the Next Town") and the unforgettable title song (one of Barry's very best melodies), the one I can't keep out of my head is the witty and sardonic "At the Bed-D-By Motel."
A wonderful release. Thank you, Bruce.

Remember that in addition to Lolita, Barry also composed songs about young girls at a boarding school for his first musical--Passion Flower Hotel--and a film musical about a young girl going down a rabbit hole. He also married Jane Birkin as soon as she hit 18. He first wanted to score The Lion in Winter using a renowned young girls choir from one of the Soviet countries--plans were already in the works to bring them to England--but he abandoned the idea when he realized that he needed a mixed chorus.

In a Lolita mood, I picked up a cdr of various tracks from the musical, including a half dozen demo tracks of Lerner singing with Barry on piano. Those were entertaining! Also included were the Mediasource demo singles (I believe there were two, one of which I've owned since the 80s) with both vocal and instrumental versions of some of the songs, plus more. A nice supplement to the Kritzerland release.
