Not a fan of the anime, never seen it actually. This looks like "fun" but the music is terribly distracting. I know that's the music from the anime, I just don't think it fits the visuals at all.
Maybe I'm misreading your comment there, but you say you aren't a fan of the anime........but have never actually seen it? I'd highly recommend checking out the anime before you write it off. In my opinion, its one of the most easily accessible anime shows ever, and the one I'd suggest to non-anime fans wanting to dip their toe into the form. And at least as far as the anime goes, the music was one of the most vital parts of the show, and one of the most highly praised aspects as well. The musical styles are all over the place, but this reflects the tone of the show, which can change from episode to episode, depending on whatever crazy adventure they are on.
I won't say that I enjoyed every single piece of music she composed for the anime (some of the styles just don't appeal to me personally), but the sheer breadth of musical diversity that she displays is always impressive.
As for the live-action show, I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic about it, and look forward to listening to the score in isolation once I've watched the season fully.

Oh, I'm a huge anime fan. Ive been a fan since Gigantor, Speed Racer, Kimba and Marine Boy (look at my avatar) Though nowadays I'm a classic anime fan, pre-2000's. I just meant the art style, character designs and music don't appeal to me so I never watched the series. I'll try to give the soundtrack a listen to though.
I get it. Nothing can ever be the anime. That's fine. This will never replace the original series and no one involved with this show wants that either. So I was willing to take this series in for what it wanted to be and gosh darn it, it worked. The cast was great, the change made to characters was great (This is my favorite Faye now) and I'm so happy that Yoko Kanno is involved. I own every soundtrack release of the anime series and picking out the songs used from the series was a fun trip.
Truth be told, this series is way more in the spirit and tone of the anime series than JJ's Star Trek ever was to the original series. I can watch the new material this live action series introduces and see it happening in the anime series. No problem.
That's just my personal take. Nothing wrong with not liking this series for whatever reason. I'll always be more of a 'Why not?' kind of person when it comes to shows like this. Heck, how sacred was Watchman when they made a series following the comic?
Netflix has posted a mega-video of four and a half hours of tracks:
No chapter stops! I don't suppose anybody will be cutting this up...?
Lukas
Someone will eventually.
I have just watched episode 1. It was a lot of fun. Looking forward to the rest. It’s a little cheesy but maybe this is just the greatest and longest music video ever made?
And the show has already been cancelled after 3 weeks. I would have loved to see more, but no idea how much it cost to produce, I don't imagine it was cheap. Wish they would have given it a bit more time to find a larger audience.
I'm still glad it exists, and adore the new music.
Milan Records is about to release a 2LP album with 18 new "Vinyl exclusive tracks"
They've made the clever choice of featuring designs from the anime instead of the Live action disaster.

I can't wait to discover these new tracks! I just wish a black vinyl option was available.

Still a shame this was cancelled, I really enjoyed it. Again weakest eps were 1 and 10 - rest in-between were excellent.
If you haven't watched/listened to this video it seems to have all the show's music here at around 4 hours. Listened to it several times. It does not have tracks labelled:
