Unfortunately, I don't know any other stores selling it at the moment. I got my copy for a very nice price from the Yahoo Japan Auctions, though that usually requires going through an Japanese Auction Agent, which can be expensive and tends to take at least a couple months before you even get the CD. Still, I don't think I'd have half as many of these Taiga scores if it weren't for those auctions.
Well, the composer for the 2009 Taiga Drama was recently announced, and I couldn't be happier with their selection. Just like I was hoping way back in my first post, Tenchijin will indeed be scored by Michiru Oshima!
With a few Godzilla scores under her belt, not to mention the spectacular Year One in the North, she certainly knows a little something about composing epic music. This is gonna be good.
Now I just hope she'll be reteaming with Konstantin Krimets and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra when it comes time to record the score!
Thank´s to Squiddybob and this thread I discovered beautiful world of Japanese film and TV music and few of my favorites composers now (Iwashiro, Senju, Hattori)
Here is this year entry in Taiga Drama and what an excellent music and now also presentation:
Music in this drama is interesting combination of orchestra, traditional Japanese instruments with jazz influences in action passages - excellent brass writting.
