Well, it would be easiest for Varese if all four films came from the same studio, so my wish would be for a "Grusin Westerns at Universal" set.

These would include:

A MAN CALLED GANNON (1968)

TELL THEM WILLIE BOY IS HERE ((1969)

SHOOTOUT (1971)

THE GREAT NORTHFIELD MINNESOTA RAID (1972)

Something tells me I'm going to be disappointed though. Isn't the "Limited Editions" stuff usually from old LP releases?

I'll second this.

You forgot one more.

Cue Kim Peterson insulting / complaining in 5..4..3..2..1..

Jim Phelps smugly belittling "baby boomers " for living in the past...

Jim Phelps smugly belittling "baby boomers " for living in the past...

Hey, wait a minute: I "live in the past"--and I'm not even a Boomer!

Now if you'll excuse me, President Kennedy is addressing the nation about those missiles in Cuba.

P.S. Dave Grusin is among my favorite composers, so count me as enthusiastic about these releases. smile

And Kim Peterson bitching about sleeves or digipacks. Or basically about Varese in general. Surprised Locotus hasn't said anything negative either.

and trstnvnk not bringing anything al all besides same old personal attacks. razz

No personal attack, just stating the facts smile

I do not care for Grusin's music, so I really do not care. I am not buying this watermelon! wink
But, please release this with all the cardboard you want, just use it up before your next release.
I think trstnvnk has a big crush on me, he can not stop talking about me.

No worries Eri... sorry "Kim", I don't swing that way.

Nope. All sorts of stuff. For example, here's one that might LOOK like it's LP reissues, but it's actually the premiere of original tracks:

You live in THE past.

Yeah, I think Bruce is right. I remember our past. It's what I may have said or done 10 minutes ago
that I tend to...what was I saying? wink

If even ONE of those is his replacement score to "Tell Them Willie Boy is Here", I shall be a very happy guy. One of still-wanted personal grails*.

* = Though it then falls to the obvious question from me: what about the two rejected scores by other composers?

Could "The Mad Room" be one of the scores?

Well there can't be too many of those. We should be able to come up with a shortlist.

I'd suggest My Bodyguard isn't one of them, because Roger and Bruce have been clear on no tapes existing.

Perhaps they could release the surviving material from Murder By Death.

TELL THEM WILLIE BOY IS HERE ((1969)

SHOOTOUT (1971)

THE GREAT NORTHFIELD MINNESOTA RAID (1972)

If i was having a dream then Shootout would be my prize pick.
Willie boy is a possibility but id imagine its more likely to be winning, murder by death or the 80s titles as big sellers
