If the Original Tapes are lost, there's always the possibility for a Kickstarter for a re-recording if enough are interested. It worked for The Man with the Black Patch!

There are three 7 inch open-reel tapes of WILLARD among the Alex North papers in the Margaret Herrick library which probably contain the complete or at least almost complete score and could be used for a CD release. So I don´t think that a re-recording would really be necessary if the original recording exists:

The tapes for the Intrada CD with North´s DECISION FOR CHEMISTRY/SOUNDER also came from the Margaret Herrick library as you can find them in the list there as well. Therefore Intrada probably has already some good contacts there and would be the best choice. The main problem with WILLARD could be the licensing as this was a Bing Crosby Production and the music rights belong to Cinerama Inc. in Los Angeles. I don´t know how cooperative they are. A similar case was Goldsmith´s REINCARNATION OF PETER PROUD which had also been a Bing Crosby Production.
