I agree. It isn't totally clear but certain hints lead me to believe it's the real deal. All tracks are marked as "previously unreleased". I read a comment on an Instagram announcement from someone who purportedly knows the people who sourced this release and said they claimed all tracks are from the original recordings (I know, grain of salt but why would someone lie about this?). Also, when archival box editions like this are released it would make absolutely no sense to include something released so far outside of the 80-83 era when everything else in the box (including the live album) is either vintage remastered or vintage unreleased. It'd be akin to putting 90's re-recordings of Stratosfear in the IN SEARCH OF HADES box. It's also common knowledge among all TD fans that the TDI KEEP was an abomination and insult to fans of the film and the soundtrack. If true TD aficionados are behind this release there is no way in hell they would put that unpolished turd in this sexy AF box set. Just my take.
I agree! I made my own homemade recording of the actual soundtrack off of the LaserDisc release (sound effects and all) back in the mid 90's. I loved what I heard so much. Once I got finally ahold of the TDI release and heard it for the first, I was: "Really? Come on!" Great sound quality but not the film score I dream to.
The 1st giant Virgin TD box (In search of Hades) eventually made it's way to Amazon US for ~ $140 free ship. Not guaranteed vol. 2 will, just pointing out -
And that is my hope! I googled the ASIN number and haven't found anything yet. We live in hope though; The Keep is one of the very few "Grail" scores I have left.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Amazon as well. I'd pull the trigger on this, but shipping from Europe is way too high for me right now. I'll wait and see.
I just purchased the Viavision DVD of The Keep. That'll whet my appetite for the time being.
More samples up on YouTube although, like the previously overly available THE SOLDIER opening title, they aren't very interesting (We've all heard White Eagle before a thousand times, studio or live). Hopefully they'll upload some THE KEEP so we can have a better idea of what to expect or at least something we've never heard before from THE SOLDIER.
