This is 'Album Of The Week' on Classic FM and it's being featured heavily throughout today, to mark his 90th birthday. They've just played the March from SUPERMAN and it was one of the slowest, most lethargic performances I have ever heard of it.

So, why isn't Amazon in the U.S. carrying the blu ray four disc set of both the visual and audio presentations of this new concert? This makes no sense whatsoever. Amazon here in the states has always carried everything pertaining to John Williams, and has carried every representation of the Williams Vienna concerts, including the blu ray. Why, for Gosh sakes, wouldn't they carry the four disc blu ray set of the new Berlin concert? They certainly have, and are offering, for sale virtually every version of the CD and Vinyl. I just don't get it. Why exclude the new blu rays of the concert? What am I missing? Steve

That's listed as a 2 CD set only with no mention of a blu ray edition or 4 disc set. I'm confused. Also, the Presto release is listed as "All Region." I'm not sure that it will play on American blue ray players. Why is this so hard?

99.9% of video (Blu-ray or DVD) releases from classical music labels like DG are All Region/Region 0 and will play anywhere in the world without issue. Region coding is mostly a Hollywood thing I'm pretty sure. Yavar

I guess that my basic confusion is over Amazon and why, all of a sudden, are they balking at carrying the four disc blu ray version of the concert? They're stocking every other incarnation of this release except the blu ray video. It's not like them to exclude the most important and comprehensive of these inter - related releases. I just don't get it. It makes no sense from purely a business standpoint. Why make available all of the other releases of the Berlin concert, and yet exclude the most complete and comprehensive edition? Steve

We don't know why DG is choosing to not sell the Blu Ray edition in the US market. Maybe it's coming later? Regardless, it's DG's fault it's not on Amazon US as a non-import, not Amazon's fault.
