Prosecco. I tried that a while ago, god it's so sweet. It reminded me of a big favourite about 45 years ago, Mateus Rose (Rod Stewart's favourite wine, well it was then), I tried that a year ago & that was really sweet. Mateus Rose is however a specific branded drink, whereas there are many Proseccos. You’ll find a dry one if you check the label And we don’t limit ourselves to Prosecco (in truth we also get one decent Champagne but keep that for when we’re on our own over the break!) Pretty sure there’ll be some Rioja Reserva flowing and, if we’re feeling flush, a Barolo. Due to family circumstance (a very unwell mother, the problems of an ageing family) I won't be drinking much this Christmas. I do have a houseful of booze thanks to all the supermarket wine offers (quite few bottles of Rioja Gran Reserva, & a few bottles of bourbon). You’ll find a dry one if you check the label And just to clarify my careless comment above, if you want a “dry” Prosecco, look for Brut on the label, not dry. Dry would probably seem sweet, although it’s probably more medium, which I quite like but Mrs TG doesn’t. The vagaries of wine appellation! And all the best with your family as well, mate.
