Bonus:

"The Tribe Who Hides From Man"
https://youtube.com/watch?v=2wbnseO5D8I

1970 documentary film with unknown tracked music. Back in 2014 I did this poor suite:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzek0QJ-orw

For my enjoyment purposes, and now for yours, I redid two cues now that the A.I. websites make it possible to clean this up. While cleaning it up, I found the opening cue was cut and parts re-used, so I fixed that, too.

Hopefully, now that they are cleaner, copyright will trip and tell me what this music is.

I've also been re-doing select cues from Tell Them Willie Boy is Here (Grusin).

While it took multiple offerings from MVSep to clean up different parts, the clean up job it did on the closing cue/end credits, is stunning. After the initial three seconds where it just couldn't clean it up, suddenly all FX is GONE and it's clear music all the way.

Atop the normal SFX option, I've also been using BanditPlus and DeNoise options to offer up alternative options for FX removal, sometimes it works, other times it gets parts that were missed ot does parts better depending on what the FX is.

What to expect from Tuesday's suites:

The final "Charlie's Angels" suite for the year, a special redo "MacGyver" suite, more suites, and a special A.I. salvage job on an unreleased TV series theme which removes the singing.

This weeks suites.

"Charlie's Angels"
Composers: Allyn Ferguson & Jack Elliot
https://youtube.com/watch?v=GPGg8Kp2znM

Suite #7. Final suite for the show for 2025.

This suite features one of my favorite cues -- the exploding tennis ball scene.

What I didn't know at the time was that this wasn't written to the scene, but an example of tracked score in the series. I'm not going back to see if it was used anywhere from the pilot to previous suites from the prior years, but I did find part of it in suite #5, so I removed it and used to fix this longer example. Then I found it was edited up and tracked again in the same episode, with a little layering, so I used that to further fix the cue and ever so slightly extend the opening.

As usual, EaseUS and MVSep were used to remove dialogue and some FX.

"Falcon Crest"
Composer: Alexander Courage
https://youtube.com/watch?v=qsCrZRKeDjY

Suite #2.

Both these suites cover selections from the only two episodes of the series he scored.

As usual, EaseUS and MVSep were used to remove dialogue and some FX.

"Convoy"
Composer: Leonard Rosenman
https://youtube.com/watch?v=LB38ws8lUBU

Suite #2.

With this suite I have covered essentially his entire score to the pilot.

"MacGyver"
Composer: Ken Harrison
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Dhaw1ftCHpk

"Jeep Travel Music" redo suite.

Now with the power of EaseUS and MVSep, I have included what I think is all examples of the use of this music that Ken did. With more material, I had to find a new way to assemble it. The same cue was used to close the suite out, but this time no talking.

I have left the old suite on my channel for those who want to hear it.

"Silent Victory: The Kitty O'Neil Story"
Composer: Jimmie Haskell
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Xw44FD69BM0

Suite of select cues from a TV movie based upon a true story. I created this suite last year and forgot to upload it, so MVSep was not used as it could have been.

"Get Christie Love!"
Composer: Luchi De Jesus
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Zm7HjBdbFWc

Special A.I. salvage job where the singing was removed.

Part of end credits had a part not in the opening, so I inserted that where I thought it sounded right.

Things I found while doing this: I believe the opening and closing cues are part of a longer song that was not heard in-full on the show. Also, hearing the singing apart from the music, it was immediately striking how much effort De Jesus put into these simple lyrics; the singers are all in unusual keys together, off kilter singing style, vocals offset with each other -- for a simple song he really put some effort into the reframe "Get Christie Looooovvvvveeeee".

Don't worry, sugar, more Love will be heading your way in June and July.

And will fly away into summer and vacation, with...

"The Courage and the Passion"
Composer: Richard Shores
https://youtube.com/watch?v=iztzQLTf5Ac

Select cues from TV movie about military pilots and their lives.

The striking memorable funky theme was also edited down and re-used for the end credits, so I used parts of that to clean up the cue. The end credits mix was slightly different, and included and a closing tag (cut off on all loads I could find) which I opted to close the opening credits with instead of the deflated soft ending.

EaseUS and MVSep were used to remove dialogue and some FX.

Not all the score from this TV movie needs to be released, but probably a good twenty minutes should be released. It would be a shame if we never got that awesome opening credits piece in full glorious sound.

What to expect from Monday's suites:

It's the start of summer and like the previous two years, June and July are my westerns and police series months.

With that in mind, I let the tide rip once again with Mike Post & Pete Carpenter.
Then you'll be telling the tale of the Morton Stevens suite.

And as a third bonus, the heat is on with "Miami Vice".

This week's suites.
Followed by comments on Summer time suites.

"Riptide"
Composers: Mike Post & Pete Carpenter
https://youtube.com/watch?v=vW8mGrbmnog

Suite #3.

Continuing threw season one where the previous suite left off. Extra attention was spent using MVSep.

"Tales of Wells Fargo"
Composer: Morton Stevens
https://youtube.com/watch?v=bMS1h2zo_SI

Suite #1.

This suite covers selections from the first two episodes he score. See my thread for the show on what suites cover what episodes.

Extra attention was paid using MVSep to remove FX, since I think it's highly unlikely we'll ever get any set of scoring from the show.

"Miami Vice"
Composer: Jan Hammer
https://youtube.com/watch?v=YW6YUiaA5uc

Suite #1. No further suites intended for 2025.

This suite covers nearly the entire score to the season one finale "Lombard" -- which I consider to be one of the best scores of the series. As I noted a couple months ago when I updated the thread, two cues were re-used in the episode, so I was able to shorten the music down to one suite and I think I fixed part of a cue as a result.

A little creative work was done on one cue; there was another cue in the episode that was nearly identical, so I edited out a portion that was different from the other cue (which had too much FX to realistically include) and placed it just right inside the cue.

SUMMER NOTES:

Exciting months of suites coming. Three to four suites every week. Guaranteed western suite every week, some weeks two.

As I mention each year, the summer months are hot and that makes me think of westerns, so I do western suites, and my other theme "The heat is on" which of course means the police, so police series suites.

All kinds of names to be seen from David Raksin, Rosenman, Angela Morley, Leith Stevens, and more. And at one point you'll be fighting crime -- in a future time.

Finishing up a redo suite for Experience Preferred… But Not Required (Rachel Portman). Beautiful score that deserved it.

Also, a little tease -- something I made for use for July...

Just a heads up: I am taking requests for suites again. Just a small amount, like maybe just two.

I'm working some "240-Robert" right now for the summer time and should be done next week. August will be a light month for suites -- I need a break, and I need to build up some TV stuff for the threads -- so I will have time for request suites.

This week's super-mega-death batch of suites:

"Chase"
Composer: Oliver Nelson
https://youtube.com/watch?v=l_mGaDOchIU

Suite #5.

Continuing threw the series with available confirmed episodes he scored.

See my thread for the show on what suites cover what episodes.

EaseUS and MVSep used as usual.

"S.W.A.T."
Composer: Barry DeVorzon
https://youtube.com/watch?v=D4px-1zxNR8

Suite #2.

Continuing threw season one where the first suite left off.

See my thread for the show on what suites cover what episodes.

EaseUS and MVSep used as usual.

"Crazy Like a Fox"
Composer: Mark Snow
https://youtube.com/watch?v=BsQee3IRaq8

Suite #1.

Selections from his work on the show, starting with the first episode. See my thread for the show on what episodes are covered in what suites.

EaseUS and MVSep used as usual. MVSep was used way more than normal since I don't think a release of scoring from the show is likely to ever happen, and I've never done a suite from the show before.

"Strike Force"
Composer: Nelson Riddle
https://youtube.com/watch?v=gSTEgeqckXI

Suite #1.

This suite was made in June, 2024, before I had really gotten into the A.I. websites and therefore is an inferior quality suite, which I want to get out of the way now. I forgot about it, kept forgetting about it and it sat there until now.

EaseUS and MVSep used as usual.

"ALF"
Composer: Alf Clausen
https://youtube.com/watch?v=HkWQRW1-hbM (BLOCKED)
https://www.mediafire.com/file/trt9zivgrts42ul/ALF+score+suite+1++AlfClausen.wmv/file

Suite #1.

I rushed this once I read of his passing, to have some of his music out in his honor.

This suite covers the first eight episodes of the series, as well as score from the unaired original pilot. I've included a screen grad of his credit from the unaired pilot (different font and coloration), the aired pilot cut, and a season one general credit -- ALF playing the piano.

Let me know if you guys want more scoring from the show!

EaseUS and MVSep used as usual.

"Lancer"
Composer: Leith Stevens
https://youtube.com/watch?v=xx_6L9TdmIA

Suite #1 (of two).

Suite that covers about the first half of an episode score I gave praise to. See my thread for the show on what the suites cover.

EaseUS and MVSep used as usual. MVSep more so since we might never see a release of scoring from the show.

What to expect from Monday's suites:

"240-Robert".
A cop suite, sugar.
A western TV series suite.
A redo cue from a Hamlisch score.
And a special redo suite of a score I have praised again and again, but can never get people's attention!

Today's mega batch of suites:

"240-Robert"
Composer: John Cacavas
https://youtube.com/watch?v=bzHb_oSz1do

Suite #1.

The suite covers about the first half of the only episode of the series he scored.

EaseUS and MVSep used, as now always on suites.

"Get Christie Love!"
Composer: Luchi De Jesus
https://youtube.com/watch?v=VniiL4So_xk

Suite #2.

Selections from about the first half of one episode he scored. See my thread for the show on what suites cover what episodes.

This is a very special suite. The prior episode suite made years ago, was of course prior to the A.I. websites, and this is the first suite to utilize them, so I went extra heavy with MVSep. Unfortunately, MVSep kept sweeping up percussion, like guiro, so I had to leave some parts "as is".

"Guns of Paradise"
Composer: Bruce Babcock
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Zkng922fzGo

This suite covers most of his score to the only episode of the series he scored. Not necessarily, since he scored one episode, but you can see my thread for the show for what suites cover what episodes.

A.I. websites used as usual.

"Cagney & Lacey"
Composer: Nelson Riddle
https://youtube.com/watch?v=YZdQdSfii_U

Suite #1.

See my thread for the show on what episodes are contained in what suites. Given I did a suite for Snow's score to the unaired pilot, I decided to start at the first episode of the series for Riddle.

I've also included a hilarious line from one of the episodes.

Something Big
Composer: Marvin Hamlisch
https://youtube.com/watch?v=2SryWBXZlcw

Redo cue of the opening titles piece -- the only cue in the film to sound like this. Beforehand, in my old suite (still up), I had to edit it all to heck, but here I used the A.I. websites to clean it up. Not all ambient FX could be fixed, sadly. Serious volume adjustments had to be made (they really tinker with the volume on this in the film).

Using a feature that breaks down certain percussion into multiple parts, I was able to completely clean up the military trumpet playing that was laid over the end of the cue, which is awesome.

No further redos of material from the film will be done.

World Without Sun (English translation of the titles.
Composer: Serge Baudo
https://youtube.com/watch?v=S209hwBcmrg

Suite #1.

These two suites (just one being posted today) replaced my old, now inferior suites.

I've been trying for years to get people to check this suite out, linking to my old suites, but based upon new hits, pretty much nobody ever does. Sad.

What you get a complex, orchestral score with strong themes and a powerful opening cue. Additional music is credited to two other composers in the opening credits. This was for a feature-length Jacques Cousteau documentary that is well done and has a number of excellent scenes, including my favorite -- the fish going crazy over not being able to get their prey.

Previously all there was, was a short EP with four cues, mostly redundant as they covered material that had little to no FX in the documentary. Also sad.

My old suites, of course, had the material edited all to hell. For example, one cue with Morricone-style male grunts, I had to edited all to hell, but with the new suites, I was able to save it all.

Utilizing both sites, I was able to remove all the dialogue, and some FX. Sadly, none of the sites are able to remove under-water scuba-diving tank breathing sound effects, something I learned while cleaning up (for my own personal enjoyment) the underwater cue from When Eight Bels Toll (Morley), so I knew going in here that was going to be the same result. :-(

The score is ripped from an English-dubbed copy of the documentary, which has better sound and picture quality, also the music sounds like it is at the correct speed (slowed down for copies in French).

I hope I can get people to actually listen to this score this time!

Serge is a conductor of classical music. This is his only score, which is also sad.

These suites will have to do while I wait for some label to hopefully hear this score and try and get it released.

Suite Notes:

Finally finished suites for "Remington Steele".
Four.
Friggin'.
Suites.
Meant to do two, but the second suite ran long, so I did a third but that ran long, had to do a fourth.

Suites for "The Mod Squad" recorded.

Recorded yet another suite for Leonard Rosenman today. Found an episode of a series missing from his IMDb credits. Low and behold, appears to be the only episode he's credited on...

Finished a Bail Poledouris rarity.

Finished suites for "Wiseguy".

Other stuff done and nearing being done. Hope in a week to be working on suites for September.

This week's suites:

"McClain's Law"
Composer: Angela Moley
https://youtube.com/watch?v=7b63Y-R_I24

Suite #2.

This suite continues on to the next episode Morley scored, where the prior suite left off.

This suite is special in that the prior one was before the A.I. websites and was edited all to hell.

As now usual, see my thread for the series on what suites cover what episodes.

Top of the Heap
Composer: J. J. Johnson
https://youtube.com/watch?v=SrbT6saYt6g

Redo score suite.

This suite replaced one I did well over a decade ago. Using the A.I. websites, I was able to save a lot more scoring and clean up FX where possible.

Johnson did the music for the original song used for the end credits, which I have presented here music only. Cues not possible, are now also included.

This falls into a genre known as blaxplotation. While it falls back on false premises that blaxplotation films typically utilized, it is none the less rather well done and unusual in it's layered Which Reality Is the Real One? approach. It's also got a thrilling tense high-speed car chase. And a sexy black girl running around naked in slow motion.

I won't give anything away for those who want to see the film, but there is a upbeat kind of heroic cue broken into two parts around the end, but is covered in crowd cheering. MVSep has a "crowd" option which I have used before, like one my suite this year for "The White Shadow" (Mike Post & Pete Carpenter). It can be a mixed bag, reducing cheering, eliminating some, results can fluctuate the quality of the music. You'll be as happy as I am to hear what happened when I ran those cues threw it: all the cheering is gone, reduction of music quality of almost imperceptible, and the music can now be heard fully! Best result ever! I have combined the cues where they were split up in the film; turned out to be the same cue, the second time used it cut back earlier into the cue and added a small amount of reverb. Now seamlessly combined.

"Gunsmoke"
Composer: John Parker
https://youtube.com/watch?v=igQV5gkO3mk
Alternative link for when CBS ignored Fair Use and blocks this:

Redo suite #1 [of two].

Special redo of one of my personal favorite scores from the series, to one of the best episodes of the series: "Chato"

What these two suites present is like 99% of the complete episode score, using the A.I. websites to clean it up.

This is the best we can have until one day some label does the impossible, and starts releasing the excellent scoring from the series!

"C.O.P.S."
Composers: Haim Saban & Shuki Levy
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Jnoo9zUPLcA

Suite #1.
No further suites recorded, no further suites intended.

This suite covers selections from the first four episodes. I actually went over the first six, but episode five had too music FX to salvage anything, and episode six didn't have anything worth saving (in my opinion).

MVSep was only able to do so much with the FX in the opening credits (believe me, I tried three different options).

In syndication, the series named was changed to "Cyber C.O.P.S." to avoid confusion with the FOX reality series.

The cartoon was big on ideas, very stylish, and had awesome opening credits visual experience. Too bad some of the writing was too cheesy and some of the dialogue delivery was truly bad. It was made for kids, after all.

"Knots Landing"
Composer: Jerrold Immel
https://youtube.com/watch?v=A8NhFsyIwxY

Suite #1.

This suite covers most of the score to the first episode, and a small number from the second which Immel scored. As now usual, see my thread for the show on what suites cover what episode. The second one had a guest appearance from "Dallas", so I had to for sure include the cue of the "Dallas" main theme, given it's the parent series.

Any other suite you find on GoogleTube, is now pointless, given unlike them, I used the A.I. websites to clean up the music.

The pilot features one of my favorite score cues to any TV series: the lovely cue when the troubled girl is running on the beach later in the episode. Sadly, during that cue or another, the FX got so loud, you could not hear part of the cue, and MVSep revealed it had been so buried that it couldn't even find the music.

I am concluding work on a series next month, so next year I'll have time to do two suites for this show.

"In the Heat of the Night"
Composer: Nan Schwartz
https://youtube.com/watch?v=NmE8mB-AZaU

Suite #2.

The prior suite had selections from all episodes she scored for season one, and I think some into season two. This suite continues in season two right down the line, not skipping any Nan did.

This time the A.I. websites were used to clean up the music.

This week's suites:

"Tales of Wells Fargo"
Composer: Morton Stevens
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ACUiyu04Y1c

Suite #2.

This suite continues straight down the line where the prior suite left off. I'll pick it back up next year for June and July.

As now usual, see my thread for the show on what suites cover what episodes, if you gotta know.

"Riptide"
Composers: Mike Post & Pete Carpenter
https://youtube.com/watch?v=PMxslA5Vsa8

Suite #4.

Continuing threw season one where the prior suite left off. "Riptide" will continue next year for June and July.

This is a series I have not done a thread for.

"MacGyver"
Composer: William Ross
https://youtube.com/watch?v=cA9y8Lhepgk

Redo suite.

Previously I had only done one cue, edited up because of FX and dialogue, but now with EaseUS and MVSep, I have redone that cue and included more score from the episode.

Despite the three composers credited, I think the flashback scenes account for McCarthy and Harrison being credited, and that the original score in this episode is by Ross. Especially given if you look at the composer credit, his name is in a bigger font than the other two.

Some of you might be thinking: okay, two redo suites now -- when do we get something new from the show? A new suite planned, but not yet recorded, for September. I still have to prepare a suite for August for "Banacek" before I can even go there.
