What the hell's an EFL Cup?

The 2024 FSM Man of the Year doesn't know?! wink

I have people for that, so start explaining.

"Personally, I don’t understand being so invested in more than one club, but that’s just me"

Not just me then...

Cheeky…!

I “supported” Newcastle yesterday for non-football reasons. It’s much the same as wanting whoever plays Man U in any given game to win.

English Football League Cup.
So what's always known as League Cup, as opposed to FA cup.

Which stand for Fuck All, coz no one ever wins it except big clubs.

Actually Football Association

I see our mate and TGs love child Dan James of Leeds scored for Wales yesterday.

Really disinterested in England - I glanced at game Friday for about 6 minutes, looked really dull.

I didn't realise (or had forgotten) until this week who else is actually in England's group. Albania, Latvia, Serbia, Andorra! All this talk of how they will play under Tuchel and the changes he will bring, whereas he could pick 11 guys from league one to beat that lot!

Some of these teams should be dumped out of qualifying, shrink the groups, and they we don't have all these ridiculous games against Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Faroe Islands. It's just a waste of time.

You could probably lump the Ireland teams in as well, so bad they both are. I think the idea that was suggested before to have a sort of "pre-qualifying" group for those teams and maybe 2 of them go through is the way to go.

These Nations League games that are on at the minute are a bit of a head scratcher as well.

Bit of a crazy finish to the Wales match. North Macedonia scored in the 90th minute after Joe Allen for reasons unknown decided to pass back to his keeper and a Macedonian player (Miovski - was good at Aberdeen) intercepted it, then 5 minutes later Wales hoof it into the opposition box and scramble an equaliser that was the last kick of the game.

(Yes, I was so bored that I watched that match).

I see that with the FA Cup quarterfinals this Saturday and Sunday, the next round of Prem matches is evenings of tuesday n wed next week.

That is odd. Usually FA Cup matches and PL matches are played in the same weekend. I can only assume it's to accomodate the players coming home from the international window.

So, Trent?

Which means those midweek games are probably on that feckin TNT.

No surprise with Trent, been pretty obvious he's leaving for months now. Liverpool really should have acted last summer, either by selling then or a new contract. Don't know how they go about replacing him, Bradley is decent but he's no Trent.

Off the top of my head, it's also been known as The Rumbelows, Littlewoods, Coca-Cola Cup through the years. If I recall, the current occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue even did the draw for a round years ago.

Think I read the other day that if Citeh win it will be the 7th (seventh) year in a row they have been in the semi, so we could do with a change.

Exactly. If City get knocked out at least we will have a year where it wasn't won by 1 of the same 6 clubs who won it for 20 years. frown

Please just not be won by Forest thugs
