I love this. It's lively, punchy and with a nice feeling of hope and exploration. It doesn't sound like "roll out the barrel" as Ottman's theme did. I look forward to hearing more.

I attended last night's performance of this event at the Bowl and upon first hearing, Giacchino's theme for the upcoming F4 movie I thought that it really resembled his themes and music for "Lightyear'. It's also interesting how he is still leaning into a 1960's kitschy pop sound, as he has exhibited in other scores. Well in this case, it makes sense given the film takes place in an alternate 1960's.

I've listened to this a fantastic four times and I love it more each time. It's got a giddy excitement to it and unlike "RoboCop" which came cheesy at the time (it has grown on me), the "Fantastic FOUR!" is once at the end and is an exciting "fist in the air" moment. I get it, everyone has their preferences and likes what they like. When Giacchino was the flavor of the month back in the early 2000's and everyone was jizzing over him, I rolled my eyes. Now, I love his work and hear a ton of "he sucks." Same thing happened with David Arnold and Brian Tyler. It's the way it works. Everyone was crabbing about Jerry Goldsmith in the 90's, now people wanna resurrect him. Enjoy what you enjoy, I f'n love this theme. Going in for #5.

We might get a great score for the next great movie ( ooh when? When you see a Dodo sitting next to a pile of rocking horse crap) I mean what is inspiring about reboots, sequels, prequels, reimaginings etc. Apart from the cheque.

I dunno, maybe the actual story when it comes out? Some work, some don't. {shrug}
