Oh dear. What a mess of time zones was monday's episode? And the whole sequence of who had taken the kids was utterly confusing. It became clear at the end but it was a mess getting there.

Yes, it goes without saying that we will be discussing spoilers here in this thread, so don't read on if you haven't seen last night's episode. Seems like this was THE WALKING DEAD's equivalent to "The Red Wedding" from GAME OF THRONES. Quite gutsy. Several of the decapitated unfortunate didn't affect me very much, EXCEPT for the "farm sisters" who have been with the series for so long now. That shocked me. So now basically all of that family is dead, except for Maggie (where is she these days, by the way?). They've been very good at setting up the 'skin walkers' as an even purer, evil entity than previous groups; all animalistic and raw (as opposed to previous sosiopaths and psychopaths). But I haven't forgotten Negan in all this; he's still around, and no matter how much our focus has veered in a different direction, and how we're supposedly supposed to forgive him now (what with Carl's naïve 'vision' and everything), I still want justice there. The episode where he clubs Glenn and the other people is still something that is more vividly in my mind than last night's episode.

I haven't seen season 9, so I'm just gleaning, but I too was a fan of Morgan's Negan (he was like a psychotic game show host)...until the finale of season 7. To me Negan should have been the one eaten by the tiger, and that would have made a great ending to that storyline. Why they continued past that (especially with the trash people....big mistake with that whole idea imo, just plain dumb and even more unbelievable than dead people eating live ones). I must admit, however, I thought Walking Dead was a sensational show for the first five seasons or so. I mean, it's not the Dostoevskian masterpiece that was Breaking Bad (which to me was tv's finest hour by far), however I liked and cared about the characters and was always psyched to see more. I forced myself to sit through season 8, and from what I've heard 9 is definitely worse. I'll sit this one out.

Maggie is now staring in Whiskey Cavalier, a new series that I think is on ABC. Don't know if she'll return to WD. I can't even remember why she left. But do you remember her last scene in the show? I can't. Was she going somewhere? She didn't die, after all. I think she talked about leaving - may even have packed - and that was last we saw i think.

First they will need go to nullify the walking dead hordes. I think they'll dress as walkers, walk about the valley pouring gasoline everywhere and then they'll set fire to the lot n watch em fry. Or they need to get some major firepower from somewhere. Like one of those spinning machine guns or a mortar!

Huh, maybe I should watch this season once it hits Netflix. It's just that the last season was pretty darn bad imo, really offputting for me. When I see that so many people whose opinions I trust are still watching WD.... Compared to the first 6 or 7 series, its been tired and samey and stretched out. In places its been silly - bigfoot skin man falling down lift shaft and no injury etc. It was like jaws jokingly dusting himself down when egyptian ruins fell on him. I think the series has lost 14m viewers in usa over last few seasons. Diehards still love it like Thor, altho im still watching, it has started to annoy me. My biggest gripe is the thing the scriptwriters do where perfectly sensible street-smart sharp survivors suddenly do something stupid and out of character just to put them in danger and create a tense scene. Rick and daryl fighting and wrestling and falling into a hole was about the dumbest thing last season. But i live in hope it gets better.
