Expressions should be equipped with a frequency limiter. Once an expression has reached a certain amount of uses, it gets blocked for a certain amount of times, several months at least.
Of course you can, just don't put so much money behind it, or expect so much money from it . That's the main reason why "controversies" exist (there's another word that has outlived its use).
I've seen this several times on different LinkedIn posts, notably (but not only) the Aussie firefighters. Nobody doubts the difficult job all these people do, and I don't detract from their courage and determination one jot, but honestly who above the age of 12 thinks that capes are any indication at all of heroism?

It's just lazy shorthand now.
Arm-Fall-Off-Boy and Matter-Eater Lad never wore capes and they were great super-heroes, so everyone should know this already.
"The average smartphone has more computing power than it took to achieve the Apollo 11 mission"
O RLY? Then why can't it remember that I wanted a song or album played on repeat when I turn it back on? Or forgets to connect to wifi after a sleep session? Or slows down tremendously when the battery gets even a little heated?

That's not a matter of power, that's a matter of not using it.

"I'm going in..." Especially when it's not even remotely a dangerous situation. My context is really about food shows, in which the host is trying different types of foods, maybe some that most folks wouldn't normally try. It was funny the first time for something like fish that have been rotting in the barrel for months on end, that sort of thing, but now it seems to come up (so to speak) on nearly every show on Food Network, etc. Just eat it!
