So, the thing I have feared the most for a while has actually happened.
LLL is (at this time) no longer able to release Fox titles. So there will be no Angel release this year (as planned).
And it's also the end of future Buffy volumes (if they had plans for that).

It's so sad. It had just (finally!!) started after more than 20 years of waiting.

Disney really ruined my dream. They are just...mean! lol!
I bet Intrada will probably not pick this up (do they even release tv score?).

Oh well, I am truly greatful for the one volume we did get last year and I will treasure it for the rest of my life.
Thank you so much for that, LLL! smile

Where did he say that?

Yeah I can’t find it either. I’m pretty sure it’s still speculation at this point, however likely to be true.

Well, MV never told me but I tweeted MikeJ to let him know how sorry I was for the project not getting released, and he said he was too, and that perhaps someone at Disney would take up the mantle. :/

Ah, so the producer of the Buffy box set for LLL confirmed to you directly that Angel isn't happening now because of the Disney Fox purchase? (And presumably, he's also confirmed that any Fox titles without licensing already in place are now off the table for everyone but Intrada?)

At least that is how I understood that tweet. Unless he was joking (I'm not very great at getting jokes, lol!)
He never mentioned Intrada though, but I assume they are the only ones allowed to release Disney titles?

Yep, unless Disney start allowing others other than Intrada access.

Unfortunately, Intrada have already stated before the Fox/Disney merger that their wishlist was pretty full so not sure whether some of these titles that LLL/Kritzerland/etc would normally do would be anywhere on Intrada's radar. Maybe LLL could partner up with Intrada on some titles, but it does feel like taking a step backwards towards the dark days when so many studios were off limits.

Unfortunately with Fox and now Sony, that's a lot of titles now off the table for the forseeable future.

In recent years, there was only a single exception of a Disney title getting released by another label (and it was a remastered re-release of a title originally premiered by Intrada just a couple years earlier):
http://screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/26122/THOSE-CALLOWAYS/

Of course the situation might change but as things are now, it looks like only Intrada has access to the Disney vaults, including potential access to Marvel, Lucasfilm (hopefully they're able to put out a complete Willow even if Star Wars remains off limits), and now Fox.

Here's hoping that this "rule" might change one day!
I mean, they have soooo many titles now that they have monopoly on Fox as well.
I checked their catalogue, and it doesnt look like they release much tv score? Would be a shame if all Fox tv titles never gets a release because they "own" the titles, and tv score ain't their "thing", lol

Okay, so it was just your interpretation and MV didn't say what you passed off as fact.

Let's maybe just wait and see what the future brings, everything is still transitioning...

I'm sure MV will still look into ways to make it happen if they decide they want to release it.

Don't forget, the previous score releases from the early 2000s also had a bumpy road to be released. FOX did initially not want to do them, because they thought there was no interest.

I was talking about what was written on twitter. Not what MV said.

You said: "LLL is (at this time) no longer able to release Fox titles."

So, how would anybody other than them (or people who worked iwht them) know? Is the source some dude on Twitter?

True!

There was also the time when Rounder Records won the deal and only released that one CD while LLL back then wanted to release a box set. Imagine if they got to start on these volumes way back then! :O

Have you not read my posts on this page? lol!
MikeJ who put together the Buffy box were also working on putting together the Angel box.

This is your entire post where you made the claim:

MikeJ is not mentioned anywhere in it.

And then I continued:

"Well, MV never told me but I tweeted MikeJ to let him know how sorry I was for the project not getting released, and he said he was too, and that perhaps someone at Disney would take up the mantle. :/ "

"At least that is how I understood that tweet. Unless he was joking (I'm not very great at getting jokes, lol!)
He never mentioned Intrada though, but I assume they are the only ones allowed to release Disney titles?"

So I would assume, based on that tweet, that its because of Disney? Wouldnt you?

Okay, I did miss that post. I thought I had read all them. Okay, never mind.

But that again doesn't provide any concrete info' and even by your own admittance is interpretation.

True. Guess we really wont know until MV tells us directly.

But I do take what MikeJ says seriously. He is very passionate about Buffyscore big grin

My mp3 rips from my cd copy of this set have a high pitched buzz on each track, does anyone else have this/know how to deal with it?
