BTW, I own all the ROCKY/CREED soundtracks, and while I love Conti's and DiCola's, I find myself listening to Goransson's the least.

A friend of mine recently noted that social media has caused everyone to now completely overreact to everything, so everything is now either the worst thing ever done or the best thing ever done.

With all due respect... and I so dearly mean that... but having an opinion is an overreaction?

Its like hemorrhoids, sports teams and Starbucks coffee: Its nice you do or don't like something - but no one will ever really care about it but you.

Well, since we're all here for our loves of scores, which we all share the same love for, I guess we all have hemorrhoids. Some more than others.

So, where is Preparation H Raymond when you need him...

I would say some ARE hemorrhoids, but yes, you are correct

I can only look at this forum while sitting on one of those donut-shaped pillows.

I loved this first episode.
No opening crawl, no Skywalkers, no Force, no Light Sabers but Star Wars through and through.
The music took me aback. On first viewing I was very surprised by the electronics. I'm planning on a second viewing to really process the whole episode.
Overall this to me was the best Star Wars related thing I've seen in decades, simply by nature of not being a remake of a previous movie.
Also, Worst Star Wars music ever? Hardly. That honor belongs to Jedi Rocks.

I see you are a man of culture as well.

If you guys need some more traditional Williams like Star Wars, here's Jedi Fallen Order samples from a new video game:

No official OST yet.

Well that score was awful. Not just awful for a Star Wars score but awful in general. And I'm talking in context of the episode. Not only didn't it support the drama on screen it worked against it. I tried the Black Panther score and just couldn't finish it, so this composer just isn't for me.

The pilot itself was below average and I was quite surprised at its low quality across the board for a streaming production. It appears its something they rushed together just so they had something original to showcase on Disney + on launch.

For a show that started production 2 years ago, that doesn't sound "rushed" to me.

Well they must of left a lot on the cutting room floor. The episode was only like 40 minutes long?
Creature attacks and its over in 15 seconds. Mandalorian learns how to ride a space horse in 30 seconds. It was just so rushed. The effects are substandard and way below what else Ive seen from various streaming series. Like GOT's and LIS. The only good effect was IG robot at the climax.

We're watching two different shows. My Disney+ gave me the good one I guess.

Right?

I don't get these people. I thought the production was top notch, the episode lengths just right and I'm still humming the theme.

Plus, it's giving me everything I've ever wanted in a live action "Star Wars" series and more. Just this last episode we got a show where no one says a word for eleven minutes, a fight with Jawas on a moving sandcrawler and no humans! Well, I guess the Mandalorian is human but… no human faces!

Damn! I have to wait until tonight to see it. And the score for Chapter 2 is up on Amazon and Spotify. What a time!

No, the animated stuff is a big missing gap - Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance. Haven't seen any of them. I could try to catchup now that they're on Disney+.

And yeah... I'm not sure what mirror universe people are living in where this show sucks but the version of Episode 2 *I* got was great fun with theatrical quality effects, photography, makeup, creature and sound design.

And that's a definite Slave Children's Crusade thing Gorenson's got going on there right? Which I'm assuming is intentional.

Its all very hit or miss with me, just like anything else in life. But Rebels S2 was very, very, surprisingly great.

Again, being an ep behind... Listening to the End Credits I noticed that the music starts with the colors that we get in the episode: Man with No Name, Wandering Vistas, Old West in Space. But as it goes you get a much more heroic and traditional Star Wars mood if not quite the John Williams sound. I'm expecting that to be foreshadowing of the evolution of the character.

Not a blindingly clever insight, I'm sure.

Agreed, and that Rebels season 2 wrapped up with such an amazing finale that I watched it multiple times over the following year.
