It does not make sense, but I recall seeing this in the theatre and being pretty shocked at how violent and hard edged it was, more shocking than the first one. I think the score works very well, it is the usual Rosenman oddity though, pretty strange and complex, and way better than the movie deserved. It is hard to believe that this movie was directed the man that directed Empire Strikes Back.

I do like Rosenman's goofy theme, but I agree with the guys who did the special effects who longed for Poledouris. Even so, I would get an expansion, for sure...

I've seen ROBOCOP 2 back in its day at the movies; love the score and would definitely go for an expansion.

In any case, I never understood why people dislike the score; I value it highly. In any case, I have not seen the movie in 25 years or so, but I do remember I did not hate it as much as some others did... but it's been a while and I'm not sure how I'd rate it nowadays.

Just finished watching the blu-ray. Still as deliciously cheesy (almost 60s Batman levels of it in places) and over the top as ever, but still a whole ton of fun!

Great work by Rosenman, and I like the sly pastiche on superhero themes with the ‘Roooobooooocoooop’ singers in the theme tune wink

And once again it’s made me wish for a complete edition of the score.

It actually states in the page that links to that it’s an unofficial release, therefore a bootleg.

And I’d avoid Elite soundtracks like the plague.....

Why? I got week ago sealed OOP Intrada Collateral for great price from them, so I am really glad & with fast trackable shipping it was perfect experience.

Selling items he quite clearly does not have in stock (the recent Close Encounters release, in this instance), which are marked as in stock on his site. Waiting two weeks then querying it (politely) bought no luck. Querying it again another week later mentioning if it’s not in stock, I’d like a refund please, bought another ignored reply. I then demanded that he either give me some indication of when the item is in stock, or please give me a refund, or I’ll have to get in touch with PayPal. Got the refund straight away then, and he barred me from his Ebay page, and shop. Pathetic. And I’ve heard the same story many times since. He also clearly sells bootlegs too...

It isn't, and therefore the link is removed because we don't provide links to unauthorized releases.

I'll just copy and paste something I wrote way back in the month of February, 2018 here at the FSM forum:

Why do we have members still, who think they have to do a search and find a release on some obscure website of a known score? If a known score gets released there will be two or three threads here and it'll be a label we either know or one that's still relatively fresh; no hunting will be required.

I figured this forum wouldn't exactly be celebrating widely if this score got a re-release. razz

I’d happily buy an officially licensed expansion.

It would certainly be a smaller -- but vocal! -- crowd. I'm sure it will get its due, and I'll be right there queuing up for my copy.

Did you happily buy Varese's officially licensed expansion on RoboCop 2 ... before it disappeared from VS's site? smile

I did, sir! The moment they announced it. I remember it well because I was on vacation at the time in Saint Martin. And I listen to it almost daily!

A truly amazing expansion. Mr. Bulk, as he is wont to do, knocked this one straight outta the park. Fantastic! I'm saddened it couldn't have a bigger pressing but such is the nature of this little passion we all have.

I love this score. When the release came out they were dissing this score a lot and I missed it out. Bought this set the minute I heard the samples. It was an instant buy. The score is hypnotic and engaging and the choral chant is just a hoot. No wonder Goldsmith was in Awe admiring the score sheets in the studio. Glad this sold out and Neil S. Bulk did an incredible job producing this.

What’s this Goldsmith story? Haven’t heard that one.

Robert Townson posted a picture of Goldsmith looking at score sheets of the ROBOCOP 2 during a recording session score and muttering "This is genius' !

ROBOCOP 2 is my favorite ROBOCOP score, (though I like the Basil Poledouris scores as well). It's a great score I enjoyed in the movie, I liked the Varèse Sarabande 30 minute CD, and I love the Deluxe Edition soundtrack which I bought right away when it came out.
