It's unbelievable that weeks have gone by again without an update. Didn't someone ask about the accuracy of the shipping addresses? This only happens when the project is completed and shipping is imminent...

I know how you feel. The egg timer is about to sound off and we will be feed another supposed update. What's the point of the update when every one is the same.
"We have the proofs for final approval.
Ready to print but golly we had to change where it is printed to _________."
Then he refers to some unrelated event like the wildfires.
Or he'll say be patient and treat each other well.

Yeah thanks. Where's our f*****g books pal.

Yeah, it's about time for a non-update update about how it's all Zelenskyy's fault or something like that but the search for an ultra cheap printer will recommence sometime before the end of the century or something like that.

Yes, I'm being funny.

Another twenty posts or so, maybe thirty, filled with vitriol and justifiable anger, will trigger another non-event. We're coming up on April now. IF they were going to a printer you'd have heard. I think what can be extrapolated here is that no one's getting these books before summer and even that's doubtful, given the history here. I'm glad to do the big post again that includes the complete history, but everyone here knows all too well.

"We are working tirelessly to finally get these books printed and delivered to you. All we can ask, again, is that you please be patient with us as we round the final bend; you WILL have these books in your hands in 2025."

"Given the new political environment in the USA, we've really been stymied in producing these books overseas. Also thwarting our efforts is that our layout file jumper gaffer operator was recently rounded up by ICE and deported. We never could have seen this coming, unfortunately. We're quite hopeful though that by 2027 there may be more beneficial political winds that will help us produce these books efficiently. We're still trying to get some passwords we need from our missing layout file jumper gaffer operator that will help us make some progress in the interim. Until then, be nice to each other."

He probably read this joke and had to delete the pending update that was almost word for word identical.

Oh yeah. I guarantee he’ll use this current political bullshit as another excuse.

I don't even care anymore. I've accepted to live with PDFs. The work itself is marvelous.

I paid the lowest tier, for just the paperbacks. Had I paid more, I'd probably still be upset.

If the books still arrive, I'll be happy. If they're in color I'll be very happy.

Care a lot, want them, but I am not happy about how it‘s done. It‘s just not okay.

TO TAYLOR WHITE:

I would like to direct your attention to a Kickstarter campaign that was successful and DELIVERED with little to no drama and apparently found a printer who was able to do most if not all of the things that you have said were obstacles in getting the Companion out - and, more importantly, at a fraction of what The Goldsmith Companion campaign pulled in. You might consider contacting the author and getting the company he used...

From the Kickstarter site - couldn't post the photo of my copy here. It arrived today, boxed securely.

Well it’s approaching the end of Q1 2025 and still no concrete update and no book.
Is anyone surprised?
