"What makes the drinkers' chats so good is that we don't bore each other with talk of film music"
-------------------------
Well that's a relief!!
I mean, what's FILM MUSIC got to do with people around here and this forum?
Hella Cool!

Because there are related interests and adds a needed-level of humanity? Cheers??

We are marking our walls with chalk to count the days when we get to meet in purpose. The "duh" in Florida is prolonging this!

Lounge Laura and I will be hosting this week's drinkers' Zoom chat this Friday at 4 pm, aka 16:00 EST, this Friday, Thor willing. That's 1 pm for our West Coast friends, and 9 pm for our UK friends.

Will this work?

Details to follow.

Interesting. Competing Zooms (see other side). Both too early for moi the perpetual non-retiree but hey, TGIF all the same.

Well, it will go later than 4.

What is the competing Zoom?

Well, not really competing, because we talk about different things. This is the non-film-score side of the board.

Plus, this has been Thor's day/time for weeks.

And, we are inviting folks from Maintitles.

I mean competing as in vying for attendance, both commenciing at the same time and all. I get out of work at 5 so I will join in on whichever meeting already in progress. Or maybe flip between the two. big grin

Unfortunately I won't be able to join in. As I mentioned last week, I'm away at the holiday home this weekend (we're now allowed back!) and the WiFi there just isn't great by any stretch. Have a good time all!

So 10 pm for me and Thor (if he feels like popping in for a few minutes). Dunno the time for the rest of us in "Europe" never mind Australasia.

"Will this work?", asked Onya. I will try to drop by, but it will be conditioned by the weather in the Plaza, so I'll be late whatever happens. Also wanted to have a peek at Stephen's Morricone-centred Zoomer...

Post details anyway Onya and we'll see what happens.

We are considering moving it up an hour to accommodate our European friends. Will this work?

Very sorry about this, but a time-sensitive issue has arisen, and we will need to cancel today's planned drinkers' chat.

We would like to schedule another on a Friday between now and Thor's next chat. I will keep you posted.

Sorry for the hassle.

Yours in cocktails,

Onya

How's everyone's holiday coming along?

I've spent one week in my hometown in the South of Norway, and I'm now at our summer house in Denmark. It's basically been non-stop drinking for the duration, but extra cool that the island that hosts our summer house also has its own brewery: Fur. I've been going through their selection for the last few days. Alas, their best beer, the Triple Ale, is no longer available. The one grocery store on the island emptied their stock weeks ago, as Danes all over the country are swarming to the island in these corona times (everyone is urged to vacation in their own countries). But if you can find this, give it a whirl:

Yesterday I enjoyed a bottle of white wine in the afternoon, and followed it up with some rum cocktails in the evening. I mixed Shrunken Skulls using a high-end, corn-syrup-free grenadine, which is the best I've used that was not made from scratch.

The last few weeks have been sponsored by beers from ShinDigger, Brew Dog, and whatever else is on the cheap shelf after I've spent too much on the good stuff smile

A few lovely bottles of Red have crossed my path, and an amount of Jack Daniels that can, and should, only be described as "an error."

Even though I am at home, I am technically on vacation. Took a few days off to check out San Diego Comic-Con's virtual convention. In addition, enjoyed several IPAs, including one of my favorite local iPAs: Zombrew!

Enjoying a few hours of online/computer time to catch up with things. Tomorrow, I'm off for the second (third?) leg of my summer holiday, a few days at our family island in the South Norwegian archipelago. The island can only be accessed by boat, and doesn't have internet access, so I'll be more or less offline for the duration. But the question is -- what does one bring in terms of 'desert island' beverages?
