I had a helluva time getting disc 2 off of that hub. Really thought I was going to snap the disc in half to remove it.

I finally nudged it off after a lot of praying, and now have no plans to put the disc back on that stiff hub. I'll place disc 2 in a sleeve.

Anyone have a trick to getting this disc on and off?

Same here. I remember several threads where people mentioned this kind of problem and each time I thought, well, what *is* the problem. Always managed the get the discs out. 'Til the äva Collection. Disc 2 and I had a fight. In the end we both lost in a way: I got the disc out but had to sacrifice one of those tiny plastic "hub teeth thingys". Fortunately the disc still holds itself on this hub without falling out. And it's now easy to release it.

Jesus I was just going to write and ask how the hell do I get disc 2 out! I can't! I don't know how close I got to snapping that disc in half.

And might I add that if there are people who have not picked up this set you should just turn in your soundtrack card - this is an amazing release of some of the best film music recordings ever done.

I have them all on LP. These were thrift store/budget bin staples for decades.

I did buy the expanded Carpetbaggers - my favorite of the bunch - and I have the compilation on CD, but I'm happy to have the others on LP.

I can't buy everything twice - I barely have room for stuff I have once!

The sound quality is just so far superior to the LPs or the pretty horrendous early pressings of the CDs, this one is really a must-have. Other than almost breaking disc 2 like many others, I'm 100% pleased.

Baby, that Disc 2 support spindle got to fall!

That Juvenile Jive set would go great with the Ava Collection!
Hint, hint!!

Yes, our new release will go well with the Ava set. There are a couple of cues Nick Carras wrote for DATE BAIT that were obviously influenced by Bernstein, one of them dealing with heroin addiction should remind some of Berstein's THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN ARM. In fact, here's the first half of the track...

And I clearly don't want to take this thread away from the subject at hand. As I posted earlier, THE AVA COLLECTION is a must-have. For TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD alone it's worth the price!

I also had trouble with disc 2. Thankfully I only ever needed to remove it three or four times.

Finally got mine free. I imported it into iTunes and will never need to take it out again ever.

I finally sprang for this. What the heck was I waiting for?? If you like jazz, crisp high end fidelity, happy vibes, and smooth orchestral scoring ... get this set!!! Is there a release out there for Henry Mancini similar to this?

Is anybody looking for a copy of the Ava Collection? I have a sealed copy, case anybody's interested.
