After this was discussed at length at our Cheers! happy hour session I decided to give this a spin. Now I just need to track down a copy of the Walking Distance score from the Twilight Zone to hear what I am missing.

"Hey, come back! Ooh, I love me a lady with meat on her bones!" Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) - Danny Elfman Tim Burton and Mike Johnson's macabre stop motion animated Victorian era fantasy was released in theaters 15 years ago today. Elfman’s tender bittersweet score, which contains a nice mix of quirky gothic underscore, swing jazz, a harpsichord depicting the Victorian era setting, four musical numbers, and virtuosic performances of two piano driven tracks. Elfman really shines during his musical number/performance of “Remains Of The Day”, which is not only a highlight of the score but the highlight to an otherwise great movie, imo. This song rivals Elfman’s Nightmare Before Christmas songs easily. I'm normally not invested in award nominations or recognition but it’s a shame Elfman was snubbed of any for this song.
