Our third release offers the CD premiere of a current feature film soundtrack, scored for full orchestra by a hugely prolific composer.

Dare I hope… James Newton Howard’s Jungle Cruise?

No it’s Clifford the big red dog as confirmed in the earlier posts

That one was confirmed weeks ago, wasn't it?

And the 4-CD set from Intrada is indeed Masada:

And the last release...

Well, didn’t think it would be Masada but blimey if there isn’t another Goldsmith to round the year out.
So Intradas previous release was 2 discs. The OST is around 36 mins.
That’s a lot of extra material to round it out to 4 discs isn’t it?

Love the previous release so will definitely be getting this along with Toy Soldiers, just very curious now what else has been added.

This definitely has to have more music, but it may not be as much as people expect given it being a 4 CD set. (I’m dying to see a tracklist!) Remember their 2 CD Patton release which could have technically fit all on a single disc. Because the album recording was separately licensed from UMG (which I think as an organization does its own disc manufacturing IIRC) that meant it had to be on its own disc. So the (also UMG) 36 minute Masada rerecording is probably on its own shorter 4th disc, and since Intrada’s earlier 2 CD edition of Masada was basically filled to the brim, it would take relatively little new material to spill over onto a third disc for the film recording.

This looks amazing and kudos to Intrada for finding yet another cool art option! What a capper to an unbelievable year for Goldsmith fans.

My kind of Goldsmith music. Well worth an expansion. It's a buy !

Excellent, one of the Intrada releases that I should have bought when first released, but didn't for some reason, & at last the album is getting a re-release (no doubt remastered). Great release...& the stereo will be better!

It would be nice if Universal released a remastered HD Blu-ray of the whole series.

I’m actually super excited for the album recording being included. I’ve never acquired that in physical form because the Varese has been OOP for so long, and knowing there were issues with it (filters being applied to one side of the LP but accidentally not the other!) I never felt compelled to spend the big bucks on it. Now I’m sure Intrada will have fixed everything and this will be better in every way. I’m super excited to hear new music from the film recording too, of course…

This is such a great new! I missed the previous 2CD release and have been regretting it ever since.

This time I'll make sure to get my copy.

I love this score, and this is one where the album recording is very much worthwhile on its own. I wonder what new material they found!

This looks amazing and kudos to Intrada for finding yet another cool art option!

A couple of years ago, I started wondering where the "giant letters carved in stone" design first came from, and apparently it began with the Heston Ben-Hur, but then became the standard design for biblical epics (King of Kings, Sodom and Gomorrah) and even general historical epics (Genghis Khan) before being parodied by Mel Brooks and Monty Python.

I wonder if "Masada," from 1981, is the most recent instance of this design (at least being used seriously).

EDIT: I see from Intrada's release that the 2005 War of the Worlds used a variant on this design. (And clearly, they all owe a debt to the 20th Century Fox logo.)

Schifrin's "A.D. Anno Domini" (1985) used the same style.

Hoping for a nice surprise from Quartet. Something American and a premiere would be something to cheer about.

As they already had deal with Universal, I hope to see Follow Me or Frenzy...

That would be nice, but I am hoping for another John Addison as they did last year. Only this time it would be a premiere release of his score to CENTENNIAL. Long overdue and it would be from Universal.
