Are movies becoming less quotable? Since about 1978, yes. The 80's were very quotable with a few gems in the 90's. Compared to the scripts in the 60s and 70s, no they werent. It wasnt a desert but 80s 90s were nothing like the quality of dialogue/lines of previous decades. And it has got steadily worse. By today's standards, the 80s and 90s were fkn shakespeare!

I notice that most parked cars have nothing piled onto the seats, so why is it when you get a ride from someone there is always a pile of odds and ends on the passenger seat? And the person giving you a ride will either look bewildered and hastily throw it in the backseat or just tell you to "toss that anywhere."

Are movies becoming less quotable? Since about 1978, yes. I mostly agree with you, Bill, except I'd give it 'til as late as 1980 - gotta include Caddy Shack, The Blues Brothers and the penultimate - Airplane!..... .SPINAL TAP, LEBOWSKI.
