Yeah, and I'm Bruno Samartino... Listen, Elvis death commemoration specials this year have come and gone like a great fart...But make no mistake, Elvis was never destined to be a great actor...I'm pretty sick of hearing this crap already..Comparisons to James Dean, Brando, Clift, the "what if he studied with Strasberg" comments..Listen, ol' Lee could not even make Elvis a "great actor".. What he was was a STAR..Big difference..I respect Presley very much. You can almost feel the inner pain in him, even in the early films. But, almost forced.. Tom Parker, (that asshole) didn't help Elvis career, but let's be frank, comparing him to Brando, was unfair, and a joke..People love to talk about "what if's" about Elvis..Being exploited in his films(especially the horrible ones in the late 60's like "Clambake"..Jeez) just to have a hit tune for the studios was what he was USED for...He was exploited, and was probably lied to like Babe Ruth when he was told he'd be a manager someday...Yeah, right...Everyone around the guy was in it for the bucks, and "hangers on". It continues to this very day.Aging "friends" writing tell all books and getting a last payday. It's sad..He might have developed,(without asshole Parker, he would have) as an "actor",an "ok" actor, and maybe, it would have given him a morale boost, and could have saved his life..But, another Brando??? He did just fine as a singer and entertainer...And a pioneer..And he died at 42..

In terms of excessive consumption of food-stuffs, Elvis was, indeed, another Brando.
