I was just curious about the time at which the server records posts. I'd been under the impression the server was located in Los Angeles, and I was curious about whether what I thought I noticed (that messages were being recorded as posted an hour earlier, as though the server were located in the time zone immediately to the west of the PST one) was indeed true. It is. Why is that? Where is the server?

The server is located in California, but is set to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). I run a little application that subtracts eight hours to bring the server around to PST. However, when daylight savings time rolls around, the difference becomes seven hours, not eight, and so all server times you see are one hour ahead.

I just need to adjust the app and it'll take care of the discrepancy. It'll be handled sometime this week.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused!

Bill
