I was hooked from the first episode, and it's rare to see a series score an A+ with every episode it's first season out the gate. And the cliffhanger finale tonight was a real stunner. I'm glad to know that it's already been renewed for a second season so that I'm not left hanging without a resolution (especially given what Johnny's vision was tonight). It's already become one of my favorite new shows, and I hope it's around for a long time.
The two-part premiere is coming to DVD in November (widescreen, too!), so hopefully the rest of the first season will follow.
Very nice, indeed, Spacehunter!!! I was not following this program until USA had the "Marathon" telecast of all the season episodes last night......(I set my disc recorder to tape the whole thing and started watching and couldn't stop!!!)
Another series that debuted about the same time is MONK......totally addictive and innovative........Good stories, Excellent production values, Above-Par Talent.........The networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) need to watch closely!!!!
E. THRALL: Yes, MONK's a pretty decent series with a likeable main character, especially compared to the rest of network tv (reality shows---I hate that crap!). My main complaint about MONK is that you can easily figure out "who done it" about 15-20 minutes into the show with the not-too-subtle clues and characters.
Really? Wow. I've watched MONK since episode one as well, but I admit to being totally stumped as to "who done it" until the very end, the same with every episode of C.S.I.
And yes, THE DEAD ZONE is based on the Stephen King novel.
According to USA's website, the entire first season of THE DEAD ZONE is coming to DVD in November, and not just the two-part premiere. The second season begins shooting in just a couple weeks, and is set to return sometime in January 2003. Can't wait.

It would be hard for me to choose, but which episodes did you enjoy the most? I loved them all.

Wow....My wife and I are about half way thru the season...........Being the sentimental buffoon that I am, I kinda liked the episode relating the re-union of the WW 2 vet with his lost love.......Teared me up a little!
Also John's finding out that his mother committed suicide.........though my wife swears that the "Minister" has something to do with it or is hiding something......Can't wait to get to the Final Episode!!!
Yes, the WWII episode is one of my favorites, as well as the jury duty episode, the one about Johnny's mother, and "Date With Dana," which is the third to last episode. There's one sequence in particular in that episode that is very funny; I'm sure you'll know it when you get to it.
SPACEHUNTER, Concerning MONK---in the episode where Adam Arkin is the obese murder suspect, as soon as Arkin's doctor showed Monk's sidekick that he could imitate female celebrity voices, I knew he made the murdered female judge's 911 call. In the episode where the lawyer-? and his secretary are murdered in their office, when the young guy showed up at the church ceremony with the coughing old man in the wheelchair, I figured the young guy was the murderer. MONK could add more suspects to make it harder to figure out who done it. ABC just announced more MONK reruns will be in its fall lineup. (P.S.---Tony Shalhoub tried to sell MONK to NBC and CBS, but they wanted Shalhoub to show Monk eating baboon brains, having sex with a gay pony and being stuck in an aquarium full of piranha on Guadacanal. Too bad, I would have loved to see a MONK/reality tv show. I guess I'll have to settle for MONK being written by artists who have talent and inspired creativity instead).
