I have to change my back brakes, as well as the brake cylinders. I haven't changed back brakes in at least ten years and I've NEVER changed the cylinders. If any of you have experience in doing this, let me know. I have a few questions for ya! Thanks!

Here's what I do: I drive down to Midas, get out, hand them the keys and say I'll be back in a couple of hours. Works perfectly every time...

No can do, good buddies! I DEFINITELY can't afford to pay someone... they all want at LEAST 150 bucks(And that's with ME furnishing the parts, which I already have.)... money I just don't have to spend. I CAN do it, I was just hoping someone here could give me some idea how long it will take, blah, blah, blah.

Then I suggest you solicit recommendations from friends who've had good experiences with independent mechanics, after which you should call around to see if one of those greasemonkeys'll cut you a deal on a labor-only repair (maybe even throwing in some kind of warranty).

I do all my own auto repairs, and in fact just gave my Chevy a brake job a few months ago. What do you need, Jim?

Jim, a brake job is fairly easy. I can answer any questions you have...

And be sure to breathe in all that lovely asbestos dust as deeply as you can. It'll make a man of ya.

Jim would rather spend big bucks on his auto repairs than spend one minute talking to me.
