Some of this is a Disney Home Entertainment issue. I noticed they have yet to release Agents of SHIELD (except season 1), Agent Carter, Daredevil or Jessica Jones on DVD.

Disney releases very little of it's television shows on DVD much less BluRay. 98% percent of their DC catalogue is available via digital download or streaming only.

I don't have the channels that show it in the UK.

No one does - it's not on any UK channel. I'm hoping it shows up on Netflix or ABC Studios On-Demand.

And, to my great disappointment (but not, alas, surprise) Galavant has been cancelled:

http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/12/galavant-canceled

Ah, well, let's wait for the next high-concept show to die prematurely.

I thoroughly enjoyed this whimsy, funny and flat out silly series. You could tell by easily straight from some of the lyrics and also the finale itself that they had no false conceptions that they this was their last season, well before it was announced that they were canceled.

I will miss it. It was fun brief series between the Fall and Spring seasons.

And some new Galavant news:

The good:

Amazon now offers "Galavant: The Unreleased Collection", a collection of 20 songs and snippets missing from the two season albums. This includes songs never previously released, such as "Hero's Journey" and "Dance Until You Die", reprises of other songs, such as Isabella's reprise of "World's Best Kiss", several of the Jester's narration songs, and two songs that never appeared in the show at all! One advantage with this collection is that the recordings are studio quality, and cleaner than rips made from the episodes.

The bad and ugly:

Like the season albums (and like the show itself) there's no physical release. This means that, as before, Amazon simply refuses to sell it to me in Oz, or to most other people not living in North America. It may be available on iTunes, but with the usual warning; the localised versions of iTunes carry greatly reduced catalogues, and you can't even view the catalogue if you don't have an account.

You can see the new album here:

https://www.amazon.com/Galavant-Unreleased-Collection-Television-Soundtrack/dp/B0711BMNKZ/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1494726215&sr=8-8&keywords=galavant

and you can get more information about the unused songs from the Galavant Wiki here:

Like the season albums (and like the show itself) there's no physical release.

Lyricist Glenn Slater posted on Twitter (just this past Friday) saying a 2-disc on-demand physical release of both season soundtracks is still coming.

And almost a year later, I'm still hoping.

Amazon has a listing up for a 2-disc CD release now. It shows it as a May 5 release date, but also lists it as "currently out of stock".

Yes! Thanks for the wonderful news. I hope Amazon will alow me to buy this 2 CD set when it's available as they will not sell me the download version of the season 2 soundtrack (I am in the UK). This I find completely ridiculous as I bought the season 1 soundtrack CD from them with no issues.

Anyway, great news as this show was wonderful and unique. A blu ray box set of both seasons would be most welcome but the likelyhood of that seems to be about the same as Jerry Fielding's McMillan and Wife being issued on CD.

Wonderful news! Some of my favorite songs were omitted from the original release. Just wish they would also include Menken's exceptional "under score", but I know that's asking for to much.

I believe the underscore in this case (at least most of it) was by Christopher Lennertz.

I'm happy to report that Amazon say they're now shipping the Complete Galavant set. Yay!

This will, in part, depend upon your selection of tracks. And by the way, "including all songs" is going to be "only the songs", because there's been no sign of a release of Christopher Lennertz's underscore, nor do I think it's likely there will be any release.

1) For an almost-completely correct sequence, and almost completely complete selection, go to the Amazon page for the Complete set in my most recent post. Scroll down, and you'll see a tracklisting.

Now, I said ALMOST completely correct. This is because the track "Moments in the Sun" is actually the five different versions of "Moment in the Sun" heard in "My Cousin Izzy". The song "A Happy Ending For Us" appears between "Moment 2" and "Moment 3".

So, if you're comfortable editing audio files, you can split this track. If not, stick with the track-listing on the Amazon page.

2) If you want a really complete selection, however, you need to refer to the Galavant Wiki that I cited earlier:

http://galavant.wikia.com/wiki/Galavant_Wiki

Digging around, we see that we're still missing "Getting Heavy" from season 1 and "Sid's Lullaby" from season 2. To get these, you'll need to be able to rip audio from the video files.

How many "parody" songs are there in Galavant? I easily picked up on "West Side Story", but playing it again recently I also picked up a "Grease" parody. Or was it laziness/plagiarism?

They were parodies, not laziness.

Some of the many parodies include:

• "Off With His Shirt" parodies "It's Raining Men"
• "Togetherness" parodies "Together" from GYPSY
• "Let's Agree To Disagree" parodies "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" from ANNIE GET YOUR GUN
• "Comedy Gold" parodies "Make 'Em Laugh" from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
• "A Happy Ending For Us" parodies "A Little Priest" from SWEENEY TODD
• "Today We Rise" parodies "Do You Hear The People Sing" from LES MISERABLES
