The Walt Disney Records remastered edition of STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE. Why?

No "Binary Sunset."

That's... that's THE cue.

I'm not sure which release you're referring to. Are you talking about the 2018 CD release? If so, that track is called, "The Princess Appears", like it was on the original double LP...

My personal worst album is Frizzell's Dante's Peak, which Varese mercifully Deluxified a few years back.

I've rarely seen a 30-minuter that has a more rubbish selection of score. Given the complete score, if you asked me to make an alternative half hour album, I'd keep probably three tracks from the OST - everything else is overshadowed by something else from the score.

Also, JNH's The Village is an attempt to make a 'tone poem' that I don't think works - far too many standout cues left off and the OST is a shuffled playlist of 'bits'.

I must have that Mandela Effect thing. I could've sworn I listened to that 2018 release on streaming and it wasn't there.

The Leroy Holmes editions of The Devil's Brigade and True Grit.

Leroy Holmes wasn't involved in TRUE GRIT. The pop arrangements for that album were done by Artie Butler.

Holmes did, however, provide the only U.S. release of FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE--a cover version on one side of a United Artists LP.

Yes. In fact, I had the opportunity to interview Bernstein about 12 years later, and I mentioned my disappointment over the LP release [of TRUE GRIT]. He said it was simply a matter of trying something completely different -- in contrast to the many Western film scores Bernstein had already released over the years.

I'll be glad to defend the Capitol album of TRUE GRIT. I purchased it a year or two before I was able to see the film. And although it became readily apparent to me that it likely did not represent the soundtrack of the film (and it said as much on its packaging), I grew to like Artie Butler's arrangements, and played the album A LOT. If you must do a pop arrangement of a score, you can do a lot worse than this.

A couple come to mind - BLADE RUNNER - had almost connection to the movie itself -

Also, Lethal Weapon, 1 and 2. Goonies, Back to the Future. All missing so much score and adding songs that I didn't really need.

I get it about Back to the Future, but that album got massive amounts of play in these parts back in the day. I would have preferred to have a complete score album as film music fans would obviously have, but the album was great and it was great for the vast majority of people who purchased it - hint - not us film music fans.

TRUE. I stand corrected - and I was one of those who played it!

For me, imho, the worst album presentation has more to do with an actual score presented in a terrible fashion. Leroy Holmes Citizen Kane anyone.

I must disagree on this one: one of the best albums by JNH. I'm not sure what was left off but if it is more suspense material then I don't think I miss it. The best melodies are on the album and it plays great in my opinion.
