I'm fresh out of Lion Bars, but I do have some "Jet" chocolate from Colombia on hand.

Bought the last three Lion Bars (Three Lions?) from my local Brit shop; the bastards better order more! I've resisted eating one each day, which demonstrates how grown up I've become. wink I still have two Lions left.

It's Saturday morning--at least here--and I suddenly found myself overwhelmed by a Lion Bar craving. However, it's Saturday, and I dread making a supermarket trip on a Saturday, but for the Lion Bar, I went.

Lion Bar.

I appreciate and thank you for your generous offer, but best to wait until Florida is in the cooler months, as those bars would be melted to slag when they reached here.

Unless they're slag already. wink

A friend had "British Toffee M&Ms" from America. They tasted like the shite coffee ones in a bag of Revels. They were awful. And didn't taste of toffee, British or otherwise.

And they probably tasted even worse since you ate them in Canada.

Did I mention I also tried the white chocolate Lion Bar? It was okay and I would have another in a heartbeat, but it's not a patch on the classic original.

Lion Bar don't taste old-school anymore it changed its recipe the old Star-Bar still original, Wagon Wheel's taste like shit today instead of original jam recipe you now get chocolate goo.

Indeed! It will be your privilege to meet Mrs. Phelps should we and you get together in London next year (London is the plan, anyway).

Send me a “save the date” and I’m sure something can be arranged.

In addition to my usual supply of Lion bars, I recently ate a Mars bar after many months. Maybe it was a case of absence making one's heart grow fonder, but this Mars bar was surely the freshest, most delicious ever. I'm hesitant to eat another anytime soon as it will no doubt disappoint.

Pah The Lion bar is a pale imitations of the Picnic bar. Cadburys had the Picnic out in 1958, and it took Rowntrees until the 70s to come up with a rival. Talk about dragging your feet. Ok, they're both nice enough.

It'll be interesting to learn what our esteemed candy bar thread panel thinks of your assertion, Paul. wink

I've not seen the Picnic bar at my local Brit market, but I'll grab a few the next time I'm there; if that search comes up empty, I will buy a sackful of the things when I'm next in London, which should be this November.

You would have laughed had you attempted to lift my sweets-filled hand luggage the last time I was over there. big grin

If I may chip in as a minor authority on both the Picnic and the Lion bars, I think they’re quite different animals. There are always one or two main ingredients in a chocolate bar that attract me to it, and one of them is usually chocolate, funnily enough. (That may be why I’ve gone off certain products that Kraft/Mondelez ownership/meddling has ruined for me, including [sob] the Creme Egg.) What sets the Picnic aside and slightly above the Lion Bar is the presence of raisins. I’m not sure they have those in all territories. The Lion Bar’s other distinctive ingredient is caramel infused wafer. Maybe that’s two ingredients. Whatever. I’m pretty much with Paul on this one, but I wouldn’t be as emphatic, because I do like a Lion Bar.
