Can any of you dog afficianados out there tell me some charcterestics/differences between the Pug, American Bulldog, English Bulldog, French Bulldog?

I know that I am certifiably nuts, but I may some day be interested in getting one of these breeds. I was curious to know more about them. Also, are there any good websites with information about these dogs?

Truly Gaudious

My friend has a French Bull Dog named The Kernel. She just paid a king's ransom to get him out of the vets' after a wierd ear operation. I've known them both for years, and personally, I don't like his attitude. Too aloof to suit me.

I’m no expert on these breeds, but here is what little I know.

My daughter at one time wanted an English bulldog, so we did some research. We found
that overall they were loving animals and expensive. (Around here it can cost $1600 or
more for one.) Breeding is VERY important because so many of them have severe hip
problems, so puppies should be carefully checked by a vet, and that is still no guarantee.
The folds or wrinkles in their skin can cause infections and have to be cleaned regularity.
Many have severe gas problems. (We're talking severe. No matches in the house!) Even with all the problems, my daughter still wants
one. We have some pugs in the neighborhood. They are much smaller, and I’ve never
heard an owner complain about one. They seem to love their pugs.

I presently enjoy the company of two English Bull Terriors..........Totally dedicated to these animals!!! I fell in love with them after the "Spuds" commercials and watching PATTON years ago........

Yes, they are expensive! But totally worth it!!

Having no children, I can honestly admit that they have filled that vacancy admirably!!!
