But assuming that's what you mean, not too many scores have gained traction with me at this point. However, some of my favourites are -

Kick Ass
Micmacs
Cloud Atlas

And for their use in the film more than a standalone listen -

Gravity
Inception
Rush

Not too bad?...

Well, I don't want to spoil this little party some people have for the last five years but...

Suppose it's 1994.

The decade so far:

- Dances with Wolves
- Schindler's List
- Jurassic Park
- Hook
- Basic Insinct
- Wyatt Earp
- Forrest Gump
- Little Women
- The Nightmare Before Xmas
- Dead Again
- Much Ado About Nothing
- Interview with the Vampire

and a few dozens more of pretty much that caliber.

--------

It is bad, you know it is...

I think I have only two film albums since 2010 or 2011. Those would be:

"Haywire" by David Holmes
"The Hot Potato" by Guy Farley

I like both of those!

Bar none, my favorite of the decade thus far:

John Carter - Michael Giacchino

Really? Both of those seemed to me to be scores where the composer was trying to channel 1960s John Barry or Lalo Schifrin jazz, without much success.

I can literally list 200-300 scores from the past 5 years which (IMHO) are better than these.

Do you buy all these scores or get sent copies to review?

Yeah, okay.

The Adventures of Tintin
Alice in Wonderland
The Amazing Spider-Man
Daybreakers
Devil (okay, I could fill the list with Velazquez scores, but this one - the first I ever heard - holds a special place in my heart)
The Ghost Writer
Hugo
The Last Airbender

Your description is a ringing endorsement, at least up until the comma.

"Better" is subjective.

Hence the "IMHO" smile

Well, people who get review copies like yerself and Erik Woods obviously have a different perspective.
I only see and hear a fraction of the films and scores.
So, my list is really a personal view of my "favorites", not a true "best of..."
