Does anybody know what this piece of music is? I had to create it on a shitting online piano, since the commercial that played it is no longer airing. It was big, bold and brassy; made me think of that Richard Harvey piece Reach for the Stars

I recently heard on the radio an orchestral work that opened with a whirling, aeolian string figure very similar to "Sunset on Genesis" from Star Trek III (at 0:06).

Does anyone know what this would be?

Thank.

Has to be Smetana's "The Moldau" from Ma Vlast. That's what I think of when I hear that segment of "Sunset on Genesis".

I'm afraid I'm not getting anything out of the piano rendition. Is the commercial available on-line somewhere?

Sadly, no; it's was a temporary commercial. The radio station wouldn't respond to my e-mail.

Geez, I didn't even think to look at the IMDb page -- like 95% of the time it's empty when I want to identify something, so I don't bother. This time, however, somebody apparently took the time to identify everything tracked in it and listed the pieces!

I believe Firehouse re-uses Ron Grainer's score from the TV movie "Thief" starring Richard Crenna.

Oh, you're right. Man, and this good score hasn't even been released.

Can't help you, unfortunately, but I really dig the second piece!! Almost an Elmer Bernstein/National Geographic vibe to it, with elements of Copland thrown in for good measure.

Hey folks, could someone here clarify something for me? Was the theme from Lady and The Tramp score (starts at 0:27) based on any pre-existing piece of music or was it a completely original piece of music?

I am asking cause there's a track called 'Shopping Spree' from Elfman's Pee Wee score and it sounds just like the theme from LATT. I'm just curious if these two were based on some nursery rhyme/folk tune etc.

I didn't even think to click on Show More.

Thanks -- I'm listening to the mp3 right now. I might have to check out more from the guy; never even heard of him.

Anybody know/can Shazam the music that starts a few seconds into this video and goes on for about twenty seconds?

I assume it's some library cue.

Sorry, but you're not tricking me into listening to a hack like Mark Levin.
