As a big film soundtrack collector, and i have been collecting for over thirty years, one of my favourite film composers,is MICHAEL J LEWIS,some of his best works are,THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF,THEATRE OF BLOOD,THE MEDUSA TOUCH,now i have the last two soundtracks, and i have the theme tune to the first, but there is a scene in THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF,where actress hildegarde neil, who is entertaining a rather boring thorley walters, places an album on the record player, and the tune is a more slower version of the main theme, now i know the soundtrack is availible, but i am reluctant to purchase it,if this track does not appear,so if anyone can remember the scene and tune, and if they know its on the soundtrack, please let me know. Also i must say, michael j lewis THEATRE OF BLOOD,was another fantastic music soundtrack, from its opening theme, the haunting EDWINA`S THEME,which is played during the horrific, surgical removal of actor ARTHUR LOWE`S head, but of course the scene is played out with pure comic genius by VINCENT PRICE,and i also love the end theme,a far more dramatic version of the main theme.

Imagine the disappointment not being able to get that on LP back in the early 80's (and it's still only ever been released as a promo).

And no Julius Caesar either. frown

I can imagine - I was late to the Lewis party, as were many, thankfully corrected with the fabulous 2cd set in 1994. How frustrating was it to try and glean the brilliant final cue in MEDUSA...under rock falling sound efx noise...

I know I've been corrupted by contemporary movie sensibilities now...

SPOILER

...as I was shouting at the screen in the end "Shoot Burton in the face!!!!" to stop his final, nightmarish 'vision's!! Maybe it was better to just freeze frame on his EKG in the end...

Neat flick, recommended.

My first MJL was The Madwoman of Chaillot. Still Stunning with amazing robust orchestrations. A lot of his scores have been released privately over the years, I think with his support.
